According to this article, 80% of Duke's road losses result in the fans storming the court. (Of course they do... I can't think of a more smug, arrogant fan base than Duke. I'd storm the court if my school beat them in intercollegiate knitting, but that's besides the point...)

Which brings me to my question - I can recall the last time it happened in football (Temple), but when was the last time it happened at Convo?

Miami last year. The Miami game last year was kinda a silly, stupid rush. It was the result of losing to Miami at home in 3 OT's the year before and beating them the year before that on the Freeman buzzer beater.

The Freeman buzzer beater rush was pretty awesome, IMO. It wasn't planned. Just a spontaneous outburst of joy over Miami sucking. The last minute of that game was pure excitement.

I've seen crazier things happen.

I'm still fully on the side of storming the court whenever you damn well please. Obviously some games lend themselves more to storming the court but I don't see why it's so important to act cool. Who cares what other people think.

We rushed the George Mason game in 2008, but they were barely a top 100 team so that probably wasn't warranted. We also rushed against Akron in 2007. That probably wasn't warranted either, but I enjoyed it and would do it again.

Before the new row of seats went in we had such easy access to the floor that it made storming easy. It only took 2 or 3 over zealous fans, and before you knew it the whole O Zone was on the court.

I can't help but to point out that BA is contradicting itself. Many on here treat fan experience as one of the most important factors, especially with students. Storming the court/field means that the student had a great time. Like when we clutched the MAC east by beating temple. Ill never forget that game, I even snapped a pic with Dante Foster (game winning TD catch). My two cents: rushing the court means the fans had a good time. That's something that should be encouraged, not ridiculed.

You know what Frank Solich likes most about coaching in the MAC? While he gets older, his coaching competition stays the same age, man.

I stormed the field when we beat Temple. One of the security guys yelled at me to stop. I pointed to my left where hundreds of kids were spilling onto the field then just walked down to where everyone else was storming and ran with them. The only thing that stopped me from making a scene yelling at him was my joy over our victory.

As mentioned above, once a couple people go, everyone is going. Even in the storms that weren't "big" wins, its always been fun... And it keeps the kids who aren't diehards coming back.

I've seen crazier things happen.

I'm surprised there isn't a program yet that doesn't make storming the court as a type of tradition for every single home victory.

At home, I storm the kitchen at least twice a day.

It's not so much about victory as it is about hunger, though.

In fairness to the Mason game, while they weren't super-highly ranked, we did come back from 17-down in the first half to beat them on a rare widely-distributed national TV (ESPN2) game. I'll never forget Bubba nailing a 3 from the BracketBusters logo on the floor. Talk about DEEEEEEEP.

I love getting on the court after a big victory, one of my favorites was in St. Petersburg/Tampa in 1983 after Robert Tatum hit the leaner after a full court inbounds pass and then a tip from John Devereaux, two of my favorite Bobcats. Last time was after last year's MAC Tourney win, a lady tried to stop me but I zipped past her explaining "I'm with them," pointing to the scrum of mostly players and program people massing at center court. Awesome!

Sorry but IMO if you were old enough to court storm in 1983, you are too old to do it in 2012

We stormed against George Mason largely because the players motioned for us to do so.

And I didn't understand the Temple storming. We didn't clinch the division nor were they a big bad ranked BCS conference team.

Never too old IMHO. In fact, security focuses on the youger fans -- it's easier for the "mature" set to slip in and join the party if you act like you belong. Don't know how old you are DG but I recommend mellowing on your age restrictions, you too are getting older and you will miss out on many adventures if you think you are "too old." Live young, baby, live young!
