What's the expression on the Northwestern Wildcat?

It's pretty easy to see that our cat is in attack mode:

But watching the Illinois-Northwestern game last night I just couldn't tell what the expression on the NW wildcat is supposed to convey:

Laughter? Contentment? Doesn't look that ferocious to me.
