Director of Communications for the MAC congratulated Akron for being the first MAC team to be ranked since 2008. Brilliant attention to detail.

Not many people, besides Ohio fans, remember or care about us being ranked after the season last year. Same thing goes when we knock them out of top 25 and possibly at-large hopes. Also, same thing goes for their beloved winning streak. Time to send Akron back down to earth.

I hope this encourages a huge crowd for the game on Wednesday. I plan on getting their at 4pm. Maybe earlier depending if I see a line forming.

December 30, 1997....

During the darkest year of OHIO basketball in quite some time...

Tubby/UK returning the game Pitino refused to until Trent was gone...

Dustin Ford part of that horrific 5-21 team....

We got smoked in front of packed Convo (mostly UK fans) attendance: 13,083

Speaking of playing teams that went on to be National champions here is a brief look at some of our competition recently:

2011-12 Two Elite 8 teams, UNC and Louisville
10-11 Elite 8 Kansas
09-10 Elite 8 Tennessee
08-09 Elite 8 Louisville
07-08 Nat. Champion Kansas

Granted we lost all of the above games, but a little fuel to the fire for people who say we don't play good teams.
