I say "yes."

It would be done when a game is in hand and it would involve the whole crowd.  Then the Ozone could do the "Winning Team, Losing Team" chant.

+1  I like the idea.

OCF, notice that only us old codgers even remember this.

I honestly think it would be a very cool way of getting the crowd involved.

The Duke cheerleaders crying is priceless.

Good idea, I agree.

Also agree that this is a generational thing.  Bummed that I now fall into the "codger" column.

I would do it directly following the WTLT chant.

I guess I'll have to be that guy. What's the significance of the song?

Maryland used it to punctuate a victory in hand.  "Amen" means "so be it."  It's a way of celebrating something and adding an exclamation point.

It was awesome back when Maryland did it.  It was probably the most recognized fan chant in the nation at the time.

Would be great to use it if Ohio wins tomorrow night, but I guess it's too late to put it together.  Would be great if the band was working on this too.  Maybe next year.

FIND SOMETHING THAT'S OUR OWN.
ORIGINAL.

It hasn't been used since the late 80s, Monroe.

Plus, WTLT isn't original, is it?

I was going to say that if it's not in use, why not try it?

WTLT is solid.  That's enough of the non-original.

There's gotta be some chant, some song, something that no one has used before.  If a hard core group of OZone decided to take the rest of the school year to develop some stuff, I bet they'd come up with 3-6 pretty solid ideas...should also work with oldpersons for ideas.

I'm all for it. I'm for anything that makes the basketball game more of an exciting event to attend. And I don't mean silly stuff like grocery cart races during time outs, etc.

Excellent exciting traditions are what brings fans back to the games again and again.

I have several favorites over the years that have always been overall fan favorites, but someone always steps in and stops the traditions and has to change things around.

1. The team should come out on the floor to the playing of Stand Up and Cheer, but by themselves. Lose the flags and the horde of people leading them onto the floor. It's too much and detracts from the moment.

2. When the team comes onto the floor they immediately go into a rotating four-corners passing drill while the 110 continues playing Stand Up and Cheer. The fans are all up on their feet and clapping to our fight song. This was extremely popular in the early 70's with Jim Snyder's teams, but was dropped around 1973 when it was somehow deemed inappropriate by the school's administration. Bring it back.

3. Return to introducing the starting lineup to the Alan Parsons Project song. It was extremely popular when it was done that way. It was always a standing ovation by the fans. Such a tradition doesn't get old. But we stopped it.

4. The 110 singing Stand Up and Cheer, and then immediately playing it. Really neat. Do it once during the game.

5. Winning Team - Losing Team is an incredible success. Keep it going forever.

6. Adding the Amen chorus would be a neat addition. Go for it.

DXr, I agree with all your points.

Bringing back "Sirius" for the starting lineup intros would be absolutely awesome.  I'm not a fan of playing "Stand up and Cheer" for that.
