That's what Russ said is likely.  What do you folks think?

No. He will go higher than he would in most years though due to a relatively weak class.

He's not even in Chad Ford's top 100 prospects yet. But what does Chad Ford know he's only a draft expert...

I don't know where or even if Zeke Marshall gets drafted, but if there's room in the NBA for Ryan Hollins, there's room for Zeke Marshall.

I always hear Hollins as a comparison, but look at Hollins' college highlight reel (it does exist). He finished everything in a dunk. Twice the athlete that Marshall is.

Zeke gets one highlight reel dunk and they have been talking about it on zipsnation for 2 weeks.

Of course stocks rise in March. If Zeke puts up good number in a tournament win or two then who knows how far he could rise.

Hollins in the NBA is/was a complete stiff (pun intended). He may have been OK (debatable) in college, but if you"re a 7 foot center who can't even make it for the CAVS, 'nuff said.

Hollins plays for the Clippers, where I live in L.A.  Maybe it's the way that they use him (mostly for defense and boards, of course) but he's okay.  A solid reserve.

Marshall has improved every year.  That would indicate he has a chance in the NBA.  Dificult to tell, espec because he's not facing NBA style big man competition now.  Plus he's 'kron--eeewwwww.

Thanks for the input, guys.  I was just wondering.  My first reaction was that Russ didn't know what he was talking about, and it appears the intelligentsia of BA agree.  'nuff said!

Speaking of not knowing what he's talking about.  Russ said after the T on DJ that he just put his hands up and didn't do anything overt to get the T.  This is NOT true.  I, perhaps, had a better vantage point than Russ, but DJ threw the ball right at the Akron player. It wasn't thrown hard, but it was thrown.  It was obvious and it was stupid.  It wiped out the T that Ohio would have been able to shoot and then get the ball back (probably).  Instead just the personal was enforced because DJ's actions turned it into a double T.  I love DJ, but he does need to get his emotions under control.  He's at least one other similar angry outburst recently.

Yeah, what would Russ know?  He only spent two years working for an NBA team.

I think there is a slight chance he gets drafted, only a slight chance. It's more likely he goes to the D league first.

As a studio TV host, not a scout. Do you think the Cavs let Jeff Phelps in their draft room?

He was still part of their organization.  I didn't say he was a scout, just that he was more qualified than OCF to assess talent.

More qualified than OCF, absolutely. More qualified than Chad Ford and Jeff Goodman, probably not.

Wrong.  The only person in the Convo closer to that play than me was the Bo.  It was a wuss call to make it a double technical.  DJ never opened his mouth or threw the ball.  He was trying to get off a shot as the whistle blew.  Watch the replay.  DJ's back was to the bench side of the court.  As I told Bo at the next dead ball, he can't lead the nation's officials in technicals called if he doesn't call them two at a time.

*I do wonder if DJ has an awful reputation with the league's regular officials, therefore they are now looking for a reason to T him up before the ball is tipped off.  My belief is that it was his reputation, combined with the officials' anticipation of a rough, emotional night ahead of them that caused them to be whistle-happy early.  DJ has earned most of his technicals, but that one was a garbage call.

Oh, they should.
