If he can find a Leona Williams or Jeomina Tillwoman to play for us I'm all for it.

I've seen them too. If that's the case, great hire! Penguins were 0-30 year before he took over, and they improved each year under him

Well, taking over a record of 0-30, there was nowhere to go but up! The continuous improvement is key. Sounds like a good hire with some knowledge of the Ohio recruiting scene. Hopefully we can get back to the glory days of the mid 90s.

He'll probably be able to have his own table at Casa:

He earned his master's degree in liberal studies from Indiana in 2003.  From the YSU website.

If I remember correctly someone (with more knowledge of WBB than I) was calling for us to hire Boldon, weeks ago when Randall's dismissal was announced. Nice work.

As everyone knows, no major decision by the athletics department is ever made until the entire senior staff has consulted the Bobcat board.

As an old curmudgeon I don't like it.  I think women should coach women's teams and the same for the other gender.  I know there are some very successful cases of men coaching women's teams, but I still prefer that teams have coaches that can totally share the locker room with their proteges.

FloridaBobcat was the one who thought Bob Boldon would be the next WBB coach. Looked back at previous posts.

2009-10 - 0-30 (they never lost by less than 10...Buffalo beat them by 54)

2010-11 (1st year) - 6-24
2011-12 (2nd year) - 10-20
2012-13 (3rd year) - 23-10 with a 1st round win in the NIT

Amazing turnaround, and with only 2-3 years of his own recruits.  Experience and success taking an awful program and making it relevant - Perfect hire...despite his male organs.

Ha. I meant nice work making the prediction, not influencing the choice.

170k base salary. I don't know what Randall was making but I think this is a significant investment compared to other non revenue generating coaches.

You sound like the legendary Bobcat athlete and coach who, in his old age, told a then-member of our women's team rehabbing a knee injury that 'scars weren't attractive on ladies' or some such. An old curmudgeon doesn't like something. BREAKING NEWS.

Women's basketball like volleyball is a revenue generating sport.

Is it really a revenue sport? What are the numbers?

well I can guarantee you this. OU Women's Volleyball is much more of a revenue generating sport than WBB.
