It sounds like there isn't a whole lot of smarts on either side.  But I can understand his anger about his son being struck in the face and pushed down.  If it had happened to my son, I probably would've had a similar reaction.  I wonder how they came up with the $400,000 figure over a door and a the altercation in the office.

I read his wikipedia page and he has had scores of silly stuff during his NBA career. Not showing up for games, turning down big contract money for some reason,,etc. etc. If he had his head on straight his career would have been better and he wouldn't have played for 5 teams in 8 years.

No kidding. When he turned down a 26 mil contract because he thought he was worth more than Tyson Chandler I thhought he needed his head examined. Mom and Dad each had to sell their houses he was paying for and his cash left over after all those years making money is negligible. He realllly needed a mentor somewhere. Ray had his back at BSU but once he hit the west coast is was over.

This is a lesson that I keep having to relearn over and over.  Every time one of these talented athletes does something beyond stupid, I'm truly puzzled because I always confuse their on-the-court (or -field) acumen with general intelligence.  I guess it's because my own athletic talent is so minimal that I really look up to and admire those with even average athletic skills.  When someone with the talent to play college-level or professional ball acts like a real bonehead I'm always surprised to find out that their ability to think on the field of competition does not equate with their ability to think out there in the real world "beyond the lines."  I do remember a few cases the other way around (names redacted to protect the guilty) where some player acted like a doffus while playing his or her sport and that proved to be a good indication of a real life doffus as well.
