4 weekend home games against rivals, should be a few games that come close to being sell outs this season.

Ohio plays Western Michigan and Toledo twice and the rest of the West Division teams once.

This schedule release is the pick-up I needed after football.

Do you mean home games? I count four: Akron (though a Sunday), Toledo, Miami (on Sibs weekend, that's a nice gift), and Kent.

The Akron home game is the day before winter classes begin. Just once I would like the MAC offices to schedule a home game with Akron on a Saturday when students are around. It has not happened in several years. The Kent game is the same day residence halls close for Spring break.

a little bit easier to read format-

1/08- @Kent State (Wed)
1/12- Akron (Sun)
1/15- Ball State (Wed)
1/18- @NIU (Sat)
1/22- BGSU (Wed)
1/25- @EMU (Sat)
1/29- CMU (Wed)
2/01- Toledo (Sat)
2/05- @WMU (Wed)
2/08- Miami (Sat)
2/12- @Toledo (Wed)
2/15- @Buffalo (Sat)
2/19- WMU (Wed)
2/22- @Akron (Sat)
2/26- Buffalo (Wed)
3/01- Kent State (Sat)
3/04- @BGSU (Tues)
3/08- @Miami (Sat)

9 home games- 5 Wed (BSU, BGSU, CMU, WMU, Buffalo), 3 Sat (Toledo, Miami, Kent State), 1 Sun (Akron).

3 MAC East teams plus Toledo for weekend games, not a bad draw.

Is it just me, or is this another year where you ask questions about the conference scheduling?  I don't see how you give Ohio, one of your flagship programs, just four weekend home games.  I mean, don't they want to sell their best programs?  Ohio, Akron, Kent, Toledo etc. should all be playing each other on Saturdays, and on TV games.  Until they've earned relevance, EMU and NIU should get about one per season.

Am I reading that right? Only once throughout the conference schedule will we play two away games in a row? That's huge.

Actually scheduling Akron on Sunday works this year.  The dorms open on Saturday with the first meal being a brunch on Sunday.  It's the Kent game at the end of the home season that is troublesome.  March 1 is the first day of Spring Break and many folks will be long gone.  Oh well, at least we don't have any other home games during the spring break.

I took a quick look at the two "extra" games for each "East" team against the "West".

Ohio - Toledo / WMU
Kent - NIU / CMU
Akron - EMU / BSU
Buffalo - NIU / BSU
Miami - CMU / WMU
BG - Toledo / EMU

We certainly got the toughest draw.  This year there are no more divisions for basketball, correct?

Unless we're on ESPN, what's the difference?  TWC is only slightly better than no TV at all, sir.

Does it matter to folks on this board?  If there's a decent MAC game on, I'm likely to watch some of it.  ESPN isn't a requirement.  My point more refers to the fact that the MAC offices do a shoddy job of marketing their best programs.  Seriously, who cares about NIU, and EMU in hoops?  Clearly the locals and the students don't because they have minimal attendance, so they can't have much in the way of viewership in their region either.

The point is that with the TWC deal, the potential audience has been at least cut in half, so it doesn't matter who's playing anyway.  Besides, we all know that the MAC office is mainly interested in showing Kent and Akron, anyway.
