Anyone hear anything about DJ and possible invites to NBA Summer Leagues?

I heard he was at a card store recently.

Draft hasn't happened yet, so no summer league invites.

It's fun to see the (sometimes) looney comments about these kids who come in for workouts... Everyone is a GM.

For totally selfish reasons I think DJ would be a fantastic backup for Damian Lillard - unfortunately I know just about nothing when it comes to the NBA.

It's a lovely day in Portland today.  Go Bobcats.

I hope DJ is smart and plays his game in these work outs and does the little things.  On a semi related note, I wonder how much our coaching staff has pushed some of our recent success with players in europe?  I know it hasnt been huge, but it still has to have some pull with recruits that know that is an option....

Hey! They gave him the wrong number!

Seriously though, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Coop. I'd really like to have a reason to pay attention to the NBA again.

I understand DJ's size being the issue with him getting picked up..

But I really find it hard to believe someone won't fall in love with him when he is making ridiculous passes in NBA workouts.

The quality of play is really quite high right now.

I remember that brief period in which you weren't 100% trolling.

I read an article from Portland that made it sound like DJ doesn't have an interest in D-League.. I kina assumed this to be the case. NBA or Europe?

Many players at the highest levels have a wingspan much greater than their height. I think Tayshaun Prince has like a 7' wingspan.

Rudy Gobert, whom I think the Cavs should take with their second pick if he manages to fall, has a 7'9'' wingspan.

Last night Channel 4 ran a nice interview Matt Barnes did with DJ.  Looked like it was at his appearance a couple weeks ago at the card shop.  DJ sounded hopeful that he would go second round somewhere.  Was very understanding why he wasn't invited to the combine; sounded like he came up just a vote or two short of getting an invite, though.  He seems to be willing to take whatever comes and go to Europe if he has to.

According to Twitter he is on his way to Golden State to meet with the Warriors.

DJ Cooper has moved all the way up to #60 on Chad Ford's big board. He talks to a lot of NBA guys when he does this list, so it actually means something.

Zeke Marshall is ranked #84 if anyone cares.

Cooper previously was not listed in the top 100. If that's how NBA teams viewed him, it would have been unlikely for him to sign even an undrafted free agent contract. At that rate, he probably could have received a Summer League Invite just to fill out rosters with a long shot at getting an invite to training camp. Now, even if he's not drafted, it would seem someone would give him a shot. It seems he has impressed in the workouts he's had and he tweeted he's heading to Golden State for one next.
