At  least they have read and paid attention to the press guide for Ohio and/or are knowledgeable about the whole "Ohio" versus "OU" issue.

Old habits are hard to break but these guys have corrected themselves when reverting back to OU or Ohio U and said Ohio.  The fact that they are even aware and trying to do the right thing is a plus. IMHO

Was impressed with JJ's analysis. Eric Collins is the NBC sports anchor in Chicago.

JJ was the key.  Always liked him.  He knows Taylor and Kellog and respected the Ohio program.  Much respect to him for that.    A breath of fresh air compared to guys like Spielman.

Pretty fantastic broadcasting. That's how it's done. They definitely made a legitimate effort to provide a 50/50 broadcast.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

+1 Pleasantly surprised.  Most of the BTN announcers are shills for the league in non conference games to the point I can't listen to them. They actually had some background on OUr guys.

It was very obvious to me that someone from the department had a conversation and it was nice to see the network cooperated.  I am glad to see the passion many have for this issue.

My guess is that it wasn't our guys or our press guide that made this happen.  I think that the Evil Empire has been very concerned that they follow the letter of the agreement reached at the end of the court battle back in 2000.  They don't follow the spirit of it with all the OH - IO crap, but they have been very good about calling our teams "OHIO" whenever we play them since the agreement.  I will have to grudgingly give credit here where I think it is due.  Go OHIO . . . the real OHIO!

I'll give them points for being knowledgable of Ohio and respecting our game and everything, but that play-by-play guy was WAY over the top on some of the Buckeye plays that were made. He made a regular two hand dunk into an NBA JAM call.

They had a nice bit on how Treg Setty got his name...tied it in nicely with tOSU and OHIO.

According to story Treg Setty's parents were huge Ohio State basketball fans.  Treg was named after Treg Lee.  Treg Lee got his name from the first initials of 4 of his parents friends..At least that is how I remember it.

While I agree, he did go just as over the top for one of Ndour's. Not my style, but not nearly as homer-ish as the typical BTN broadcast.

I don't think I caught that one, so I'll semi-retract my statement.

Not so fast! I only watched the BB game intermittently (the football game was riveting!), but I did hear the color guy say something about how "OSU has got to play more physically. OU, er, Ohio is small compared to the teams the Buckeyes will typically face. They'll have to play tougher to match up with Michigan, Wisconsin, teams like that..."

Now, that's a paraphrase, but essentially that's what he said. It came across to me like a dig at Ohio--that the Bobcats were not up to the level of competition in the Big 10.

Sounds like he was being honest, but I think at the moment we could probably take the lower third to half of Big Tenfinity, assuming we don't have the type of foul trouble we had last night.  I don't want to say the refs beat us, but when you have 34 PFs to the opponent's 21, they have 51 FTs to your 21, and they shoot only three fewer FTs than you have FG attempts, it creates a deep hole.

We will get by.
We will get by.
We will get by.
We will survive.

I'd like to think he is wrong. If the Bobcats can beat Michigan in the tournament and lose to the (#9?) Bucks at their house, then I would say the Bobcats are competitive. That may be a stretch, but I don't think the Buckeyes are head and shoulders better, either, and I found his comment patronizing.
