I am amazed by the constant hand-wringing, internal squabbles, and complaining by the old guard when it comes to the Ozone. I was at Kent State this weekend, and they had maybe a dozen actual passionate students in their less than half-full student section. Kent's a good team with a good tradition and they're playing well. I wonder if people have any idea how strong our support is compared to the rest of the conference. Students show up, get into the games and have fun in the Convo. That doesn't suck.

I don't want to compare the O Zone to other student contingents in the MAC. They all suck, including Kent. Aim higher. We have  been better than the rest of the MAC for at least a decade.

Great picture, we are missing the shirts.  What can we do to fund/supply the Ozone?

I wish I could tell you... We have shirts, we need bouncers. Any BA members want to come enforce the shirt rule? :D

Marketing assigned ushers in the past. Maybe they can do it again.

Ozone is definitely the best student section in the MAC.  Akron's is OK but not on the Ozone level.  A few other schools would probably have a good student section if their team would catch fire and have a good season--Buffalo, Kent, Ball State, Western, Toledo.

How offensive.  Can't we just say they put their lips together and then inhale in a very rapid and strong manner?

I remember Jim Christian stating that one of the attractions to the Ohio coaching job was the student section's participation, particularly citing the "winning team, losing team chant"......so carry on!

I agree I remember after last years game against Kent at home one of our players was being quoted and said in some sense that one of the Kent kids told him. "your student section is so good I wish ours was like this"

I also remember hearing the UNI players had good things to say after the opener so clearly the ozone is doing a good job and having an impact on the game.

I had a good talk with a couple of Panther players on the way out of the Convo after the UNI game. THey did like the atmosphere and compared it to a few of the MVC venues.

I think ourt online presence is good with the opposition boards because guys like OUVan and Eagle66 are forthcoming and civil on their boards. Good ambassadors that seek info and understanding rather than act like fedale or the idiot from Temple who love to antagonize our fans. It is rare that fans visit other boards and wnat to actually talk about the game.  Our fans a re very good about this.

BTW  I saw UNI is somewhere sunny and bright this week....PR maybe....

I love the Ozone ...and having been in amny areans other than ours and experiencing many student sections (Lets go Pee) we have one of the best. I am not uptight about things in general but I know a classy and clever group form a boorish bunch of punks and total arseholes. I would hope we would call upon our collective fun living Athens OHIO Humour and keep ourselves above the fray. We are better than some of the stuff that is currently de riguer in student section behaviour. I challange our current leaders to come up with great chants and inside info on the teams we are playing.....yes it takes a bit of digging but social networking makes it much easier rthan when you actually had to work at it. Plan , pounce and strike hard. .

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game
