'Cats drubbed Fiami last night 97-79 nailing 13 treys, and every player scored.  Great energy on the court, too.  Get to the Convo early as they will be facing WMU Sunday at 2PM.  You won't be disappointed in the effort.

Former teammates are doing well, also.  Jenny Poff is a Kent assistant, Jennifer Bushby is an assistant at Ashland, and Chandra Meyers is the head coach at Conotton Valley High School, currently undefeated and ranked #8 in the Ohio DIV poll.  All of them earned graduate degrees from Ohio, too.  Well done, old gals!!!

Didn't Ashland's womens team win a NCAA Div. II national title a couple of years ago?

DII national champs last season.  Bushby was an assistant last year for that run as well.

I know one shot she'll never forget- on her senior night at the Convo, Bushby hit a 3 pointer at the buzzer to beat Buffalo.

Beating Miami never gets old, it is nice to see this team progress as the season goes on. Boldon certainly has them playing with purpose. When they lose sight of that he is quick to correct and hold them accountable. Gone are the days of eye rolling and not running the floor and I must say it's a breath of fresh air to see this team compete. These gals are fun to watch and the effort is clearly there. Turn out Sunday a little early and catch the women's game, you might be surprised at the improvements made in year one of the Boldon era. The admission to the women's game is free if you have a ticket to the men's game-just show it at the gate.

Great shot and the only true Bobcat buzzer beater I saw in my years in Athens.

In all the years you were there that is a huge statement.

It's unfortunate all the men's buzzer beaters happened away from Athens.

Stevie and Tommy's waning-moment bombs were certainly thrilling, though.

I don't count those as Buzzer beaters, I am not going to assume you were assuming I was referring to that.

........AB vs IUPUI away is a buzzer beater for sure. Tommy's only Buzzer Beater by definition I can remember was his second shot ever as a Bobcat at the end of the first half of the New Mexico State game. Game winning buzzer beaters come few and far between.

You're right, but they're good moments so I figured I would bring them up anyway.

I remember Armon against IUPUI and Fears against Detroit... I think also one against Central Michigan? Someone help me out on that one. Brandon Hunter in the 2003 tournament, I think.

Yes, 2007, I believe, at Central Michigan. I think it was Whitney or Sonny. Leon had a buzzer beating layup off of full-court pass against St. John's in Hawaii, but I think time was added at the end.

Wasn't Armon's buzzer beater vs. IUPUI at Lucas Oil Stadium as well, not their regular arena? That was definitely special...

And GREAT win for the women today vs. WMU. Saw part of the 2nd half, and the girls definitely play more enthusiastically under Boldon than I ever saw them with Semeka.

Conseco. Their home away from home. 8 blocks away from campus. AD is an Ohio SPorts Management grad BTW.

Only games I have seen in Lucas were the girls state championships a couple years back. We still use COnseco  or wahtever you call if for boys but I think the girls moves to the newly renovated State Fairgrounds coliseum next year. SHould be nice.and NOTHING like the fairgrounds in Columbus.....

Here's some legacy for you:  freshman Quiera Lampkins, a very smooth scorer, is Curtis Simmons daughter.

I was at 2 buzzer beater games where Leon Williams scored- the tip-in in the 'what is Buffalo sucks' MAC Championship game, and on a layup in the Rainbow Classic game mentioned above. Both were started by out-of-bound full-court passes, one by Jeremy Fears and one by Bubba Walther. If these qualify as legit buzzer beaters, Leon must  stand alone with 2.

I wish 2005 does, but Buffalo got a shot off (or at least could have).

Also, Fears' PERFECT full court pass went to Sonny Troutman who missed a baseline jumper just in regulation that would have been a true buzzer beater.
