The difference was the points in the paint at the end of the game. It is not possible to beat a 2-3 zone without working the foul line area and the short corners. Jon made a couple huge jumpers in the last few minutes from the gaps in that zone and Maurice was able to get the ball in there too. Until they do that for an entire game, I expect to see 2-3 run against the Cats in every game for the rest of the year. That was a gritty win based on the first 90% of the game. I'll take it.

Right around the time JC switched Jon and Mo, putting Jon at the High post. For whatever reason N'dour hasn't looked comfortable in the high post last two games. Almost looks like he has never been asked to play up there before.

to be fair Jon, Mo and TJ were all in the spot throughout hte game. Jon made shots and great decisions the last 4 and Bean opened it up with his 3 ball going down..

I think Mo looked good up there early but they were able to collapse on him with no outside shooting coming;

I'm interested to see how many coaches in the conference will be willing to go zone. It's a type of personality test almost, how willing a guy is to go away from what he likes to do.

Mo had a huge game rebounding and made a lot of great passes. Unfortunately most of the passes went to waste due to the poor shooting

I noticed a few times where N'dour would get the ball up there and look hesitant to drive or shoot. Just didn't look comfortable up there to me. Jon was much more fluid when we got him the ball.

I expect we'll see zone until we get good at breaking it.  BG beat us with it; EMU almost did.  I hope today means we're learning.

I actually didn't see much of the last eight minutes -- got pretty disgusted at that point and watched the end of The Godfather and flipped back during commercials -- so I'll have to catch the replay on ESPN's website.  But it sounds like it was a character win.  They hung around until they figured things out.
