I could be mistaken, but I believe it was philosophy professor Alfred Lent who compared Bowling Green to a turkey sandwich with provalone cheese and mayonnaise on white bread. Which is to say, that if one chose the least exciting ingredients possible, this is the result.
Louis Orr played 8 years of professional basketball; his win-share per game is .007 below the league average. He is 6 games over .500 now in his 13th year of head coaching experience. His wikipedia page has not been updated since the 2012 season.
Bowling Green’s turkey sandwich does have a little bit of mustard on it. Richaun Holmes is the 15th best shot blocker in the country, has 52 on the season going into a Sunday game at Western Michigan. He would become BG’s all-time leader in only 2 seasons if he maintains his current average of over 3 per game. Still, it’s a bland sandwich that will be served with a glass of room-temperature water.
