Walked into the Rohr Room and had a wristband put on. They're selling beer for 5.50 a beer. Never thought I'd see that.

I got there too late to have one or four because they don't allow it to be taken to your seat. It's a nice option to have, though. I'll get there earlier next time.

Great idea Monroe.  Speaking for 695 and myself, I'll volunteer for a program like this:

Looking at the crowd in the Rohr Room each week, they would be well advised to also serve wine.

This is long overdue. Glad to see them looking to generate easy revenue. My first Convo beer was mediocre, but delicious and worth the inflated cost.

Hey,Alan, I liked beer - until I first tasted wine. Ever drunk Alsacian gewurtzraminer? Like sipping silk.

Why is beer vs. wine being presented as an either-or type of choice? Both are good, and, depending on the situation, each is appropriate.

This is just what we need, 695 and Alan Swank getting enough alcohol to relive the glory days. And if they ever criticize the Ozone again, the students will really let them have it.

Developing scenario:

Rohr Room adds wine to the menu.
O Zone switches exclusively to shine.

Convo is renamed "Miami Sucks Arena"

I've seen crazier things happen.

.........drank (grammar) Alsatian gewurztraminer (spelling)

If we're gonna talk wine on BA, then we really have to keep up the spelling standards on here......

I do know he has "swirled, sniffed, and spit gewurztraminer - not sure if was Alsatian though"............

According to Rosenblum Cellars, it is Alsacian.

We should probably agree that it depends on your choice of stylebook.

I think we can probably also agree that the gentleman who has spent many nights drinking wines in said province be given leeway to use the local vernacular.

That picture of Tanqueray has made me thirsty for gin.

I don't drink gin often, but when i do...........

Not meant to give Mr. Jonson a hard time - just chiming in per BA "standards" with a "wink" (maybe that was not obvious).

FYI - Been in the wine biz for 25 years. Sales, Educator, Wine Judge, etc. One of my pet peeves is misspellings per grape varietals, appellations, etc.

What particularly irks me is New World wineries theft/fraud and bastardizations of Old World nomenclature (i.e. California "Burgundy", "Champagne", etc.). I am sure Alsatians are likely as persnickety about what they are called or how they are referred to, as we are about how many refer to "OHIO" incorrectly.

Cheers!
