Since we always like to talk about renovations to The Convo on here, this is what the Illini are doing to Assembly Hall. Very impressive stuff.

I have been following this for a while. All my Chicago area friends have been excited about this for a year.....now that they actually believe me that Coach is the real deal and not some MAC level wunderkid they can't wait. It is a 3 phase 3 year porject to avoid moving them out of the arena. That building is very unique architecturally. I remember being on the mid cour t line in the top row of the stands in an empty arena and my buddy being in the same place directly across the arena. We could hear each other talking in a normal voice. way cool. Had a chance to visit with Coach in Champaign. He is very excited about the project and how it affects recruiting, support and atmosphere. ....

For the record:

1-0 as head coach (summer league) in Assembly Hall....er...State Farm Center.

Now, will they re-name Indiana's Assembly Hall? Personally, I don't think they should, but I didn't think they should re-name the Louisiana Superdome either....
