Have to agree - very steady and under control. Taylor reminds me of a mix of - get ready for this - Snoopy, Mike Reese and Jaivon Harris all rolled into one. He just plays with no theatrics. How does Snoopy fit into that because he was theatrical? Taylor uses his body and long arms to create good looks. The think that I was most impressed with was how he was always square to the hoop when he took the shot. At one point when he had made four in a row, there was a timeout and Dr. Saul actually took his temperature by placing two of his fingers on Ryan's forehead. It will be nice to have a point guard who can see over people and score.

Not bad for a situation where Saul had a few weeks to get a few guys just to be able to field a team.

“I want to be part of the fun,” he said. “I came down here and everybody was having fun. I want to add to that fun. Let’s have a Saul Ball Fest sometime.”

Didn't see the game but from the box score and highlights: If I'd've prescribed what this team needed, I'd said two freshmen guards who are tall and can play. Check.

Also, Wadly contributing. Check.

Tony Campbell and Wadly hitting 3balls. Couldn't even think it.

I guess Appy is not that good or didn't play well--but does today make anyone raise their hopes for the 'Cats for this year?

1 game is way to soon to make any judgement calls with any freshman. Let's see if he can be consistent game in and game out.
If Ryan can produce each game like yesterday then I will be the 1st to jump on his band wagon and give Saul high marks for this find.

I am jacked that we have another Indiana kid looking great in an OHIO uniform. This program got a diamond in this one. Polish him up and develope him. He is gonna be a winner.

Interesting discussion on OHIO vs State in the UMhoops thread. Interesting http://mgoblog.com/mgoboard/mbb-evaluating-2014-ohio-comm...

Hope Saul taps the Indiana pipeline for positional players. Awesome find

I am always amazed how people will be quick to judge a player after 1 game, good or bad.

getting way ahead of myself here but thinking about having Simmons/Laster/RTaylor in the backcourt for 3 years and having Simmons/Laster/RTaylor/KK/Campbell as a starting 5 the next 2 years hints at a bright future for SaulBall.

No one is making a judgment based on one game. People are excited abt Ryan's potential, as well they should be.
71, of course he's not going to put up a stat line like that every game.

If he does, he will be one and done. As long as he's a solid contributor in most games he will be fine.

This coming from the man who judges things before they happen.
