A Load of good Holiday hoops on from today through the end of the weekend. Of note in my opinion:

Day Games in San Juan: Temple-Minnesota, Butler-Miz State

Day Games in Charley South: Ole Miss-G.Mason

Prime-time games:

Creighton at IU
Marshall at Tennessee (only because of our interest in the Herd)
Boise at Arizona
Iowa at Marquette

For those burning the midnight oil:

SMU at Stanford at 11:30pm EST

Yeah, this is shaping up to be a great sports week. Temple/Minnesota is a good one right now. For me, today is a tuneup for an awesome slate of hoops tomorrow, starting with our Bobcats.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

Marshall and Alcorn State are the only two teams that have not played yet. Marshall lost to Newberry College 101-89 on Sunday in an exhibition. Newberry is DII and lost their opener to Erskine.

That's probably putting it lightly. They've set their program back years with the last two hires.

Based on how they've shown vs Tennessee, they're a bit better than I thought.

What happened in that game? I turned the TV over to my wife for Grey's with Tennessee looking like that saddest sack team in the SEC.

From what bits and pieces I have seen of the SEC so far this season that is saying something. Not looking very sharp at the outset of the season

This is a good weekend agreed.

IU getting a lot of hype over here though every Hoosier fan and their families seem to hate Crean.

Bradley post Geno vs UVa is brutal to watch but I think they will be better with a new direction. Okafor is one of the kids from our conference so there is some interest. UVA is looking pretty strong quickly.

Iowa out of the box nicely but really interesting seeing Marquette thus far. Seem all over the board. Glad Wojo was not a choice of ours.

Good discussion of the Pack Line d UVa uses and all the schools using it. Stong ties to a tree of coaches.

Butler comes out ready and putting up a humk of points from a usually D oriented team. Holtmann got some firepower so far.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game

Looks like Tennessee erased a 16 point deficit to win by 10.

It sounds like the Citadel should be an interesting experiment this year in playing fast. They gave up 144 to Butler in their season opener, but scored 132 last night in a win over Mid-Atlantic Christian

Tennessee is also in full rebuilding mode. One thing is certain, our game with Marshall should be an fun one. They like the fast pace.
