never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Is that Mike Reese? I should be somewhere in that shot as well since I was at that game.

Interesting criteria for induction:

Bailey is inducted in his first year eligible (26 years after high school graduation),

Assuming you already know that is for the HS Hall of Fame in New Castle....over by the Knightstown gym I think you visited.. http://www.hoopshall.com/main/hall-of-fame /

Criteria is listed here http://www.hoopshall.com/main/hall-of-fame / As you say.... YOu become eligible 26 years after playing and after 25 years of coaching varsity or 10 years after retiring from coaching. That honor is for those who withstand the test of time and are truly worthy. (by then most every barber shop around the state has had fans and detractors who have discussed ad nauseum the legend of anyone who would be considered)

The Hall is only about 9 miles off I70 and is well worth visiting if anyone is going west. Tell the Director, Chris May I sent you ...he will be happy to show you around and tell you his latest stories. Dream job...gets to talk to guys every day about hoops....little things like asking Michael Warren, Kareem, Trgovich and Walton to write some thoughts on Wooden when he died... interviewing larry Bird or Greg Popovich about their memories of growing up in INdiana for the quarterly mag the Hall puts out.

Had to Google Dave Colescott (he's one of those that was inducted in the first year eligible) and came across this list. A lot of great players not on this list.

Was at that game too - 8 rows up at half court. Have told this story before but I'll tell it again. There was no beer in the arena but at halftime, many if not most folks got up and started for the concourse area. This was the beginning of dance teams and the OU team hit the floor and 10,000 grown men froze in the aisles to watch their entire show and even those who weren't standing rose to applaud their performance. That spectacle and Gary Trent's three minute show as the first half was ending were as exciting as it gets.

Yep been to the "Hoosier Gym" in Knightstown and would go again. Great experience. Wasn't being critical of the criteria at all in fact I agree, did the person stand the test of time. When my daughter was playing high school ball they had a game at Point Pleasant, WV. I can't remember which but either before the game or at halftime they retired a girls jersey who was either still playing or had graduated the year before. Borna you can imagine the conversation we had that night when my daughter got home.
