Looks pretty fair. I might not have NIU that high considering the Snuggle-soft schedule they have played. If NIU's schedule was a sleep number bed, I think it might be set at 2. And that could be pushing it.

We'll find out a lot about them tonight. They acquitted themselves pretty well in their one tough game, Missouri. They've essentially done exactly what we've done. Beat the teams they should have and lost to the one(s) they were expected to.

Surprised they have Toledo ahead of us. Plus, take a look at the computer rankings on this page and you'll see that Ohio is third in two of them and fifth in another.

CMU never learns. Last year they blew any chance of getting an at-large bid by playing a non-conference schedule so soft that only 1 opponent had an RPI better than #274, Northwestern(15-17) at #127.

More of the same this year. CMU is 3-4 with an RPI of #333 and a SOS of #336. Not counted in taht is their 3 non-D1 games because why are you scheduling 3 non-D1 games??

CMU's 3 D1 wins are against-
#324 Texas Southern(1-8)
#337 Jacksonville St(1-9)
#339 McNeese St(0-6)

How do you rank 5 other MAC teams ahead of that?

Considering they can't beat anything but terrible teams I'm not sure they blew anything with their scheduling. They had a nice win at Northwestern but also lost badly to a terrible Bradley team. They also scheduled three no-D1 games last year. I think their schedule glossed over the fact that they weren't (aren't) really that good.

Isn't CMU still playing without Fowler, the (widely considered) best player in the conference? True, 3 non-D1's is bad either way, but I'll withhold judgement on them until they are full strength.

Fowler returned on Saturday. Had a good game if I recall.

You say that like we've scheduled for an at-large bid. However the reality of the MAC is we are by large a one bid league.

I'll say this, Buffalo may deserve this ranking right now even though they don't have a single bad loss and 2 OK wins, but I would be shocked if the Bulls ended up behind 5 West teams at season's end.

If you look at the number of points, there's not a lot of difference from 4-10. It seems the voters have a distinct top three (actually #1 is clear and then 2 and 3 are close) and distinct bottom two, and then there is everyone else in between.

It's been a while since Akron has had anyone suspended for the year. That has usually happened by now.

CMU finished non conference play last year 10-1 but their RPI was just #119 because their SOS was #341. The MAC was the 10th rated conference in RPI last year but the only conference in the top 12 to not have an at-large bid. CMU was the regular season champ and lost in the tournament championship game, a less than awful non conference schedule could have made a difference.

Ohio, didn't schedule for an at-large bid this year because there are not expectations of having an at-large team. However, at 4-3 Ohio currently has an RPI of #93 and a SOS of #109.
