First of all, St. Bonaventure is a solid 5-2 team from a conference that is rated ahead of ours so no shame in losing. Here are some insights from someone (me) in attendance.

1. Without Dartis you could see Saul had trouble with his substitution patterns. It was all over the place. Jordy would have been a definite zone buster and would have helped defensively on Adams or Caputo.
2. Gollon should have played more. Was awesome with 8 points in first half and barely played second half. He could have been a zone buster. Outplayed Khari by far, although Khari had a solid game.
3. Tony with only three boards is never a good thing.
4. Jaaron with three turnovers was great. More under control. Worried about 37 minutes of PT. Don't want him dead by MAC time.
5. Block had one of his worst games so far which shows that we need him hitting, kind of like Kron needs Kretzer and MacAdams hitting. Block is similar to them.
6. Wadly was solid in his time on the court. So aggressive. I can see him schooling MAC big men off the bench. Will be nice with Kent's size.
7. Treg's double-double was nice. He was hustling all over the place. Love what he brings offensively now.
8. 9 of 26 from 3 is not good when the other team is 10 of 22.
9. Overall, nice venue...feels smallish but that adds to the experience. Their student section is very good. I was impressed with their coach. Just a solid job by their school. Not a bad loss by any means.
10. I feel like we can go 8-4 non con and at least 11-7 in conference to finish 19-11 overall. That would be awesome.

While I have stated that I believe in waiting till we are further into the season before making any prognostication for the total year I did want to just make 1 observation after 7 games.

THERE APPEARS TO BE A LACK OF CONSISTENT SCORING ACROSS THE BOARD.

Sure the team talks about the turnover issue, but if you got guys scoring 20 one night then 10 the next that's just not going to get it done consistently.

I agree about the inconsistency with scoring. Other than Jaaron we have no one who can score off the bounce (Jordy is close). We need to get the ball inside more consistently to Tony and Kenny needs to start getting aggressive.

My kids' activities kept me from watching the game after the first couple of minutes but what happened to Jaaron? How do you go into a game leading the nation in getting to the line and not attempt a single FT? They had been allowing teams to penetrate so it sounds like it should have been tailor made for him. Again, I didn't see much of the game (he did have one nice driving layup early) but if the solution to cutting down on the turnovers is to have him pull back his aggressiveness to the point where he doesn't get to the line I am completely against it.

Missed the second half entirely but Gollon had a big first half. How does he only get 10 minutes? Was he getting abused on defense?

Agree with you on 1,2,3 and 10. I still feel good about this group. One thing that you didn't mention is the Bonnie guard, who is not know for his 3pt prowess, going off in the second half. Sometimes, there's not much you can do about that.

You're absolutely right about the 3-point shooting by Bona guard. That's why I said it wasn't a bad loss. If we play them 10 times we go 4-6 (as of now). I feel like this year's team is already ahead of schedule and will only get better. I just find them more refreshing even in a loss then last year's team. Even Treg seems to have a different energy (which is probably from having real TEAMmates).
