I honestly thought we would get run out of the MAC Center. Part of me is encouraged.

Let's call this season what it is. A rebuilding year. A growing pains year. We need to improve our defensive skill somehow, but our offense is light years ahead of last year. Let's not get delusional with our expectations.

I can't call this a rebuilding year because we aren't coming off a good year last year... Growing pains fits better.

I'm encouraged that we fought back and kept that game someone interesting at the very end. We were scoring pretty easily but we couldn't get a stop to save our lives. The game started to get out of hand with turnovers... That IS a sign of of youth. That'll get better.

In addition to our inability to get a stop, the fouls today were a little crazy. I think we win that in the Convo. Keep in mind Kent had two or three Seniors starting. We had one. This team is trending up.

I've seen crazier things happen.

You mean you're not embarrassed?

Not mad at the lack of heart and effort?

Not angry with the lack of offense or hustle on D? do we have a facetious emoticon?

Thanks for posting...it is growing pains

We're actually building something this year. Last year was a black hole.

Need to grow some for sure (a pair of them) - On D - On RB opps Blocking out D, Crashing/O - And at the rim on O (how many bunny opps missed this year????).

Bodies and ball movement have to improve on O. BBIQ and foot speed/work fundamentals have to improve on D.

Are we building something? We dont have the selfishness of Bean but are we really any better? Played bad non con. NBA offense. I have seen ZERO evidence that we are running the SaulBall I saw at North Dakota St.

I think some people are failing to give credit to the opponents. There is a lot of parity in the MAC. Maybe there aren't any great teams, but there are a number of decent ones. I also don't buy the notion shared by some of how Ohio should simply beat some of these teams simply because its Ohio. That's not going to win anything. But I will say come the MAC Tournament, no one will want to play Ohio.

Rome wasn't built in a day. I said when the Christian thing went down it would take years not weeks to recover. I stand by that. Saul gets hired late gets two passed over recruits and Taylor bolts which was Huge imo. His recruits this year show real promise but they are freshman none of which are immediate game changers as of yet.

No question we struggle mightily on defense but in our defense at the Kent game last night we were playing with a significantly weakened hand. No Dartis a sickened Treg, an apprehensive Block and early foul troubles for Simmons were a lot to overcome especially playing at a typically tough venue in Kent. One big key imo we couldn't match Kents depth advantage.

That game could have turned into an embarrassing rout to our credit we battled our -sses off right to the end.

Keep the faith and exhibit patience.

Watching defenders who don't move their feet is a real pain for me.
