First off, let me say that I really like the video work that is done for the Bobcat TV YouTube page. I go there a lot to watch highlights of games I might have missed, or even games I saw in person. I do have one little complaint about it and I'm curious if anyone else agrees...they never show any highlights from games we lost. From basketball and football wins, there's always a recap video with highlights and commentary from Russ/Rob. From any loss...no highlights or commentary, just maybe a press conference video. There have been games I missed for various reasons, and even though we lost, I wanted to see some highlights and hear what the crew had to say, but there's nothing. I missed the Minnesota football game and was shocked there were no highlights of a near-win over a B1G team. Preview, press conference, nothing else. I was in attendance last night for the BG debacle, but I'd still have liked to hear what Russ and Rob had to say. Instead we get the players press conference, nothing more. I have seen some really good games that we lost and there will never be any highlights online for those games, but a mediocre performance that results in a W gets a highlight video.

Anyway, that's my nit-picking rant for the day.

Might have been a conscious decision in the program somewhere. No athlete on the radio last night and I did not see any in the presser. I am sure they were requested. JG took gaffe for (over) controlling what was said but I do not remember him ever not bringing anyone out. Even after a full blown melt down he made players come out and answer questions to make them take accountability not sure if he always sent the ones requested by media or sometimes chose to choose who was available . 2 specific examples that were a bit uncomfy. I am not sure of the rules as far as athelte availability post game. I think that is a mandate at some level. Those get pretty painful to watch. LAst night would be no different. Lesser of 2 evils to let coach do the speaking.

If this is so, in my humble opinion it's a stupid policy.

Yup. Silly to ignore a loss....

Do they ignore the Sweet 16 loss to UNC? Was that something we bury OUr heads about? No...was a helluva game that we fell short in.

Same thing with the Minny game in football.

Wish they were a little more balanced in that aspect.

Especially when there is no consistent Bobcat coverage in video format anywhere.....

When I wanted to see the Kent St game highlights, I traveled away from Ohio Bobcat TV and watched Kent's YouTube channel for a while. So if the goal is to push Ohio fans to other team site's to get what they need, it's a great policy. (<----Sarcasm alert)

What do you think BobcatTV can do to improve their coverage? (i.e. previews, recaps, feature vids, etc.)

Don't ignore losses. As an Ohio fan, if I miss a game, I want to see some highlights and hear about what happened whether we won or lost. We only get game recaps on wins, currently. I wasn't in NE Ohio for the Kent game, I wanted to see what happened, and to get that I had to leave Ohio Bobcat TV and watch Kent's video package.

I think player profile interviews (maybe seniors only) would be cool. They will sometimes do them in print in the Post. Course, maybe you already do these and I just haven't seen them.

Just so everyone knows, woub's youtube channel does a report of just about every game, win or loss.

I've always liked when I've seen video of players answering random, 20-question-type questions on the video boards during game timeouts at other arenas.

It seems this year, there's a big delay in when Bobcat TV's recap is posted compared to recent years. It used to be uploaded within hours of the games' conclusion. This year it seems they're going up sometime in the middle of the next day.

I know athletic policy is that they can't post a recap on a loss. I'm pretty sure that's a department thing and can't be fixed (unless you ask them to fix it via petition). I agree (and most others within the BobcatTV crew) that we need to recap everything.

I heard there was also a shift in management this year. A new director is in the office, so it's a period of transition. Hence why probably the vids come up slower this year than previously.

I like the questions on the seniors in other arenas.. I think that's cool and maybe we'll one day see it. Then again, you'll then cut into time with the 110 performing and other marketing activities. There were more video features posted last year, but I assume with the new management in the office they're just trying to lay some ground work and move forward from there.

That does not make one ounce of sense.... I do not think I have run across that at the schools I follow. Since I am like many others here I always look to get a take on why they think they lost.
