You won't enjoy this one!! Terrible play. I think they were exhausted from all the bad travel. Too bad.

Not the best performance from the girls. They lost their first conference game of the year 51-43. Don't freak out though, every team has "one of those days." 'Cats couldn't make shots they normally make. Buffalo played well, and I give credit to them.

The girls will bounce back Saturday. I wouldn't be worried about this loss.. Ohio's still on top of the MAC and owns the tie breaker on both Ball St. and CMU. So, unless they keep up this play (which I don't see happening because the team won't allow it) then maybe it'll be time to worry.

I heard them mention something on the broadcast about an early morning drive to Columbus to catch a 6:00AM flight then a long delay. Didn't catch details but sounded like a bad day.

Bad loss. Combo of factors responsible:

Beefs played great and the ball kept dropping for them.

Cats shot 27.8% from field including 5 for 29 from downtown.

Terrible travel situation.

No 'Spoon.

Ohio's rpi was 25 but will take a big hit I'm afraid.

Go OHIO

Bad travel for the gals included a bus breakdown after the BSU game and was stranded in Richmond, IN for five hours. Back very late arrival in Athens. They also had a problem with the plane and were delayed another three hours. This kind of travel does not help the legs. They did stay overnight in Buffalo with a trip back I believe by bus.

Well... Schedule went like this..

Going to Buffalo:
3am - Bus up to Columbus
6am - Flight to Baltimore
(2 hour layover)
11:30(ish) - Arrive at Buffalo.
5:00pm - Practice

The team did stay overnight in Buffalo after the game, to catch a noon flight to Baltimore (the plane was running late, which was delayed by only a half hour or so) the next day. Another layover in Baltimore (which was only an hour thanks to the delay), then arrived in Athens about 6:30 p.m. thanks to traffic outside Columbus and into Lancaster.

The bus did breakdown after the Ball State game. Everyone was kind of trapped in Richmond, Indiana at a gas station/Hardee's for four hours. They didn't get home until 4:30 a.m. (planned on an 11 p.m. arrival).

Why fly if that is the best flight? They could have driven quicker and with less hassle than that itenary. Especially when you consider that they took a bus to Northern. Not complaining, just a question per rational.

ahhh yes Love's....the first stop on my way to athens and last stop on the way home....not a very good place to spend time waiting....dirty , cold and off the beaten path.

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

I drove the buff trip....Once......next 3 times I flew. The one time I drove it we were in a blizzard and ice storm when we left Lancaster OH....took 13 hours. Pulling into the garage in Buffalo the attendant look at the truck which was caked in a 3 inch crust of ice and asked "where the heck did you come from/"

If it's my kid heading to Northern. Mt Pleasant or Buffalo in the middle of winter ...I prefer they fly every time. Long time guys at Butler who have gone through the transition from a bus league to planes really extoll the virtues of flying. That included into Olean NY and such.

I get that, been in the middle of that Buffalo fun myself. My question though is why drive to Northrn (which is at least 2.5 hours longer), and fly to Buffalo.

Over the decades I've taken some 1,300 flights. With most hubs closing I know that flight itineraries have become more indirect. Re the Ohio women getting to Buffalo, am I reading correctly that they connected in Baltimore to get to Buffalo?

Re Buffalo and winter flying. Buffalo is one of the airports where I spent an uncomfortable and seemingly interminable night because of crappy weather and canceled flights.
