First game I've seen this year tonight. Re defense, and not considering individual defense, it took mere seconds to see that we have three guys who can play team D.

They 1) keep their heads swiveling, looking around for ball and man situations, 2) move their feet 3) to cover angles, and 4) keep their man reasonably covered while shading to help away from their man.

Setty, Laster, Block.

Bonus: BetterCallSaul game ready--coaching in sneakers.

Solid observation.

People trash you but they can't deny your powers of observation and ability to point out specifics.

The Cavs looked great tonight. Uptempo really suits them. They looked against 'an Antonio like the top level playoff team of last year.

In the same observing vein as your post above, Dellavedova, in particular, benefits from the fast pace. Fast-pace opens up for his 3balls, passing and penetration for short runners.

A big play tonight: On LeBron's run-down block on Manu, none of the Spurs were down there to follow up in case Manu missed--but Delle got the hustle rebound of LeBron's swat. Swat good; follow up possession of the swattage better.

Also strong credit to the first party (Shumpert? J.R. ?) who initially contested that Manu breakaway.

J.R.'s a favorite. He's said to be one of the better athlete's in the NBA, a fine golfer. No matter his reputation, watch him: he plays hard--pretty good D and uncanny ability to make tough-moment shots. Solid.
