He is just now showing up on some radars. No way he declares this year. Needs another year to work on the body and have another monster year and hopefully lead Ohio to a nice post season run.

Not to mention that some proper nouns are capitalized while others are not. Makes you go "hmmmmm".

Certainly not out of the question. New procedures in effect this year make it easy for kids to enter, get an evaluation, withdraw if they choose and retain their collegiate eligibility. Look for lots players to take advantage.

That said, I don't think we should be worried. It's doubtful Tony would be a first round draft choice. He has yet to perform against top flight collegiate competition. If you are not a definite first-rounder, and are in good standing at your school, it makes little sense to leave.

If Big Tone continues to improve, though, the draft next year could be very interesting.

By the way, if you think Tony might wanna take a look-see at the NBA, there's also nothing stopping Simmons...

Nothing against TC. He's very good. In another year, he could be an interesting prospect.

That said, you don't appear to understand how good a player has to be to be drafted.

There are about 60 picks, right? Perhaps a dozen come from outside the U.S. That leaves about the 48 best players in U.S. college ball. Duke and Kansas and UCLA, etc, etc, etc, etc are mostly where draft picks come from.

If you're the top guy on a top MAC team, the odds of getting drafted are small. In fact, isn't the number of MAC players drafted in the last 10 years really small--only about two guys?!

Agree with Monroe 100%. I like tc and he is a nice MAC player. That doesn't automatically mean NBA caliber. If tc is 6'10" he would be going against some real big bangers. If he got in the weight room and worked hard and improved his ball handling...an outside shot at it. He could def have a great run overseas if he so chooses.

I'm not sure I see who Campbell guards in the NBA. The league's changing so fast, that to be a 4 you have to be able to guard small ball 4s all the time, or be big enough to switch onto 5s. Not sure I see him as capable of either.

Agreed. It could happen but he's got a lot of work to do. He's strong, has great hands and is a nice catch and shoot guy from the outside but he has no real midrange game and doesn't dribble particularly well. Not sure the league has any NBAers right now.

Yep--those skills you all mention are exactly what's needed in the NBA now.

Basically you have to have rather freakish physical skills of size and speed/quickness.

And guys who have that in college really stand out. You know it when you see it if you watch a bit of the NBA (to see what's required) and college ball (to see how few have it).

Bobcat2000 = TOS

Who else could make such a cogent analysis of incipient NBA talent?

Yeah not sure who he can guard in the NBA and if he loses weight which he would surely need to do then I think it changes his game quite a bit. Not to say he cannot do it but he is far from a sure shot NBA prospect at this point even as a MACPOTY. With that said I am glad that we have him and it will be fun to see him dominate from here on out.
