I was originally only going to head up for the semi-finals and then hopefully the finals but a change of plans and now I am in for the quarters. I'm hopeful that with the 6:30 time slot that Ohio will have a nice turn out. What BobcatAttackers are heading up?

Looks like I will have 5 in my party!

I'll be there. Of course I only live 20 minutes east of the Q. I'm going to try and make the women's game Wednesday too.

I'll probably make the trip up Friday assuming all goes well... wife doesn't want to go so trying to talk family members or get a group together from Facebook Ohio friends. Pretty easy drive from here, turn onto the highway in Massillon, turn off of it when I see the arena!

Pretty much the same. Love being able to walk to the rapid so I don't have to worry about driving/parking downtown.

You'll see me there as in every year. I'm the guy with the big attack cat tattooed on my back. This is the time of the year (especially in good Bball years )I'm glad my victory lap at OU resulted in this art piece. See you all Thursday!

Hi gang -

A Cleveland area OU alum posting here. Looking forward to an exciting MAC tourney in my hometown. I've enjoyed following the 'cats from afar though I did see them in person against Cle St in December. I think it is a wide open field this year. For those coming into town, an earlier poster mentioned some new hotels coming on line. This is true. With the RNC arriving soon, the city is awash in construction. Four new hotels will open by the convention. You might consider The Schofield. It is opening tomorrow and looks to be a beautiful renovation. It is a kimpton hotel brand.

http://www.theschofieldhotel.com

It is within a 7 minute walk to The Q and about 4 blocks north of Jacobs (progressive) Field. They've done a very nice job renovating it. I'd recommend parking at the PNC garage. It should have favorable rates compared to the hotels. It is across the street from the property and offers reserved parking on floors 1-2, but open on three and up. Secure.

Looks like Schofield has some favorable rates this weekend. Keep in mind there is some risk here with the hotel not yet open and untested. Hopefully the staff works out the kinks early this week.

Other new things you might consider. Check out the Heinen's grocery across the street from The Schofield. An impressive renovation puts a local grocer in a rather stunning building. A very nice wine and beer selection on the second floor with regular tasting options. Also, The 9 - directly across from The Schofield and adjacent to the Heinen's. Another nicely done renovated hotel with two nice bars inside and a swanky Vault club downstairs (at 38, I am too old for the Vault scene :(

Go Bobcats and I hope to see many of you supporting OUr team in Cleveland this week!

I'm in +1 Friday evening and beyond provided we win on Thursday.

It looks like in addition to the pre-game bash which I'm sure will be at Zoccalo's again, the Cleveland alumni association is hosting a St. Pat's party at Barley House on Saturday starting at noon. Nice way to possibly bridge women's and men's games if we make it that far.

I'll be in the house for my first ever MACC, with limited headwinds I'll make the pregame on TH night.

And for the record, I hate tOSU, and Ricordati and Torgerson are DB's.

Hey bobcat bobcat --any tips on a good parking garage on Prospect / Residence Inn? That under ground lot there gets full fast , and it's pricey . Love that the new Kimpton property is open! Those are usually great well run hotels. I had definately considered that !Thanks for all the great info! See you at the Q! Go Bobcats !

Hey cathead - I cant think of a parking place adjacent to the Residence Inn. Two places that you might consider …. The first is actually on Euclid Avenue, just north of E. 4th Street: The Huntington Garage. I have parked there overnight before. Secure and only about a block to your hotel. Just cross Euclid Avenue and walk up E. 4th Street. Make a left and you are right there. I do not know how much it would cost you to leave it overnight and I'd advise checking what time the garage opens in the morning on weekends. I'm pretty sure there's a credit card machine at the exit, so you ought to be able to get out whenever. The other place you might consider is the casino parking garage. Cost would probably be on the higher side, but the casino rewards program usually offers free parking with some amount of play. You might consider parking overnight and trying your luck on the day that you leave to try and get the free parking. Only hesitation is that the casino is soon changing its rewards structure to its new brand. Not sure how that might impact the parking. Again, would probably still advise the pnc garage. It's not much more than a 7-8 minute walk to your hotel and I find it has the best rates. You could also check the 515 Euclid Avenue garage which is between the PNC garage and the Huntington garage.

Last couple pieces of advice: Bobcat bash at Zocalo is usually pretty good before the game. Lots of bars in that neck of the woods and anywhere you go will have a pretty good MAC presence. Zocalo is the bobcat flagship for the weekend. Go somewhere else to eat.

Also, if you havent been in town since the last tournament, check out the Flats development. A couple of new bars and restaurants down that way.

Go Bobcats! Let's hope for an extended run through Saturday!

Myself, my 10 year old son, another alum and his 10 year old son will be there tonight. We'll likely head over to the alumni function then to the game. Scored some floor seats so the kids are extra excited!
