Post players who aren't elite can take quite a bit of time to develop. We've seen many come through the MAC who didn't do much their first couple of seasons, then dominate the league as juniors and seniors. I have no idea if coach Phillips would consider this or if Wadley would go along with it, but there possibly could be a bonanza payoff if he could be redshirted next season. This factors in only if it looks like Wadley would be a marginal player again. The premise is that Wadley probably should have been redshirted as a freshman. He may be able to put it all together as a fifth-year senior and we would want to see him have that big year in Bobcat green. That would be difficult to accomplish next season anyway with Tony Campbell returning as MAC Player of the Year.

It's clear that as the season progressed, Doug passed Wadly on the depth chart. For as many DNP's Wadly has faced in his three years, I'm very surprised he has not redshirted one of those years.

Interesting thought. Not sure Wadley would want to do this, but I agree it could be hugely beneficial. I'm not ruling out him playing a major role next year though... Potential is there. He has seemed very close at times.

I've seen crazier things happen.

His length has to become a big part of how this team improves defensively next year. Nobody else on the team has that. If he's able to spell Tony for a quick breather here and there, swat some shots away and get some putback dunks on the other end, I'll be happy.

One thing I've considered is that perhaps the starting 5 against some teams should include Tony, KK, and then one of Taylor/Wadley. The factor is whether or not KK could respectably defend the opponent's 3. I'd have my doubts, but it's a thought.

I don't see much of a difference in how he defends a 3 vs a 4, what I'm more concerned about is clogging up the paint for Campbell post touches. We really need floor spacers at every other position for him to go to work 1 on 1 down there.
