Bobinski skates from GT to PU. Joy in both Atlanta (yay he's leaving ) and West Laffy (Yay he's coming) SHould be interesting for this former AD at Akron and X.

I predict he will flame out like his fellow Akron to Cincy to the BIG predecessor Mike Thomas. He did well with X and the position on the selection committee but I am not sure from his Goat Tech moves that he is gonna be great for PU

Selfishly, I am glad Jim Schaus is still here. Unselfishly, I think he would have been a nice fit for that job. Someday, he's going to go somewhere "bigger" than Ohio University. By then I hope he's built this thing up so well that it'll keep going like a well oiled machine. Maybe it's already at that point.

Schaus may be getting branded as an older mid major AD and that's hurting him when pursuing a P5 job. Kirby Hocutt by all measures did nothing at Ohio but cut sports and he moves to Miami, FL then to Texas Tech in a few years. Serving on the playoff committee at the moment. Schaus spent his prime at Ohio where he made it one of the better MAC jobs.

You know, I wonder if Schaus really is destined to go to greener pastures now. Presumably his dream jobs of West Virginia and Purdue are now taken. I'm not saying its going to happen but I really can envision Schaus finishing his career at Ohio. At least I hope that's the case!

I remembering being told by an "insider" right after Jim came here that he was likely to stay here long term unless he was offered the WVU job. If you will recall, he said at the time that one of the reasons he came to OHIO was to be closer to his family in Morgantown.

The occasional talk of re-naming fields and facilities after current coaches, when they reitre, should include naming something in the athletic campus after Shaus. Or at least officially misspell Gym, Jim.
