Having watched this season unfold, it seems to me the team's effectiveness has been hampered to this point by the losses of Wadly Mompremier, Khari Harley and James Gollon. As little as five minutes from each of them may have made a significant difference. The team could use Wadly's five fouls, rim protection and offensive rebounding; Khari's length on the perimeter and slashes to the basket; and Gollon's length and perimeter scoring presence. Then, Jason Carter and Rodney Culver could be spotted as needed, without having to expand their roles. But all you can do is play with what you have. Hopefully the team will jell to the point where they can get a bye in the MAC tournament.

They have combined to average about 4 points a game together, nice try. The coach needs to get these guys going They have no killer instinct, they play defense when they want to.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

There are plenty of teams out there that play 10 guys in a game. 11 might be unusual, but I'm sure there's someone out there doing it.

EDIT, watching ACC opener for FSU, and the broadcast duo notes that they have 11 guys getting 10min per game.

They play defense when they want to...You're funny allen.

Last year we had 5 guys average 28 minutes or more with three of them over 30 and only two more over 10.

The year before we had 5 guys average 24 minutes or more with three of them over 30 and only three more over 10.

No, BtC, I wasn't advocating for an 11-man rotation. I was just pointing out how helpful those guys could have been, if available. For instance, Wadly Mompremier's presence in the post could have been an asset in the Iona game (which I was at) after foul trouble to Tony Campbell and Doug Taylor forced Jason Carter to play there against a guy having a monster game. I believe this has been an issue also in other games. With a third low post player, coach Phillips wouldn't have to risk Tony and Doug getting their forth fouls as early as they have. James Gollon's perimeter shooting potentially could have come into play in games where Gavin Block and Kenny Kaminski weren't hitting from the outside. So, to me, it wasn't as much about rotation issues as it was availability and increased competition for playing time.

Good observation/point.

Sorry, but the way you typed the original post was having 11 guys get real minutes. It would be nice if we had that type of talent, we don't.

I would have liked to have seen what we had talent-wise BtC, in Mompremier, Harley and Gollon; especially the two upperclassmen. We've all watched significant proficiency spurts in the last season or two among a lot of ballers who came Athens, particularly among bigger guys. Setty, Keely, vanKempen immediately come to mind. There are just those players who are going to need several seasons before they put it all together. I don't know if Mompremier and Harley would have done that, but they did have some skills, so I wish they would have gotten the chance to show what they could do. Happy New Year everyone!

this is like saying the 2012 team suffered because Jacobs and Belton didn't get more minutes.
