ESPN had OUr women ranked #6 in their mid-major rankings. Today Ohio beat their #5 IUPIU on the road 71-65. I'd expect OUr ladies will receive a few votes in the polls now.

This sets up a game Tuesday @Michigan. The AP poll had Michigan at #29 if you count the others receiving votes. Ohio was a #1 seed in the women's NIT last year as one of the last four left out of the NCAA. So far, I think at least a little surprisingly after the experience they lost, they are building an even better resume. A road win here, I'd think, would start putting them in a really good position. I haven't seen them play but the results so far look really, really good.

We have a 6-1 RS Freshman Forward, Hannah Thome, who has a 6-5 sister, Hallie Thome, who is the starting center for Michigan.

Would be nice to see Ohio men schedule a game like at Michigan. Instead they go to Iona... and lose

Right, this was the year to bump the schedule a notch like the women did. Ladies also get the Illini at home.

Big road win today, ending IUPUI's 7 game win streak. Kiki Lampkins with a double-double while the other 2 Cats in double digits, Adler and Jenkins, played all 40 minutes.

The ladies have a killer instinct.

Nobody despises to lose more than I do. That's got me into trouble over the years, but it also made a man of mediocre ability into a pretty good coach. Woody Hayes

They should start receiving votes soon, no?

With a win at Michigan, I'd say receiving votes. 'Cats are #4 in mid-major poll via collegeinsider.com

Ohio played tremendous at IUPUI, and faced a lot of adversity (11 team fouls in 1st quarter, 8 or so being BS calls). Then Boesinger/Jazz fouled out in the crucial moments of the game. Bob complimented Kendall Jessing for sitting 39 minutes, coming in at crunch time and playing her butt off. That's what team is all about. Kudos to all the girls in the team win.

Michigan got blown out of the water by No. 9 UCLA today, but Michigan is much better than what they showed today. Also, Hannah Thome's sister, Hallie, is a starter at Michigan. Also, Amani Burke will play on the same floor as her older brother Trey did. Should be fun in Ann Arbor.

I would not be surprised at all to see a point or two in OUr column in the polls tomorrow.

Toledo's only loss is by 2 against UCLA. Buffalo is unbeaten. They also have a win over Duquesne along with 8-2 UCF and 6-3 Hofstra (and have OUr number). Central finished second in the MAC last year and might be slightly better. Western looks about as good as Central. NIU and Akron are both 5-2. Ball is 5-3 against a pretty good schedule.

The MAC is ranked higher in men's basketball than women's more often than not. The MAC men aren't going to repeat a #10 conference ranking again. It looks more like #12 or #13 and probably if it is #12 significantly worse than #10 and #11 (MVC and WCC) which are better than last year.

In the women's game the top programs dominate. Not surprisingly the power 6 are well out in front. The AAC contains UCONN and is thus up there with the worst of the power 6 in the computers that do women's because UCONN pulls up the average. It sounds odd but the MAC is almost certainly going to be the #8 league in 2016-17 women's basketball. With a win at Michigan we might have in another year started thinking about this team having an outside chance at running the table. However, running the MAC this year would take one hell of a team to do it. Just winning it would be nice.

Down 12-7 after 1. Bobcats don't score a basket in the last 7:36 of the 1st quarter.

Sloppy game with lots of missed shots and turnovers...the Bobcats are getting obliterated in rebounds and Michigan can't miss (literally) from the FT line. But still only down 27-21 at the half.

Well I think we're getting the same kind of reality check we got with the Men. Absolutely a force in the MAC and potential for a great run, but not quite to the level of being worthy of top 25 consideration.

Interesting note - of the 10 players that have played for Michigan so far in this game, 9 are listed as guards (one C)

Cruised to an easy win against the Illini last night, who although a Big Ten team, is nothing to write home about.

Provided an easy win against NC A&T...the Bobcats will be 10-1 entering conference play. If they have similar results to last year and go about 16-2 but have a misstep in the MAC tourney, they'll sit at about 27-4 vying for an at-large. The Michigan loss being a blowout will really hurt them, but a record like that would be tough to ignore.

They have a lot of depth and some very talented younger players.

OK nevermind all that, at-large hopes dead. I cannot believe they lost to 2-9 NC A&T. Although in my defense, for some reason I thought that was a home game.

You're right. Let's question if Coach Bolden is THE coach. Haha!
