When he said how happy he is with life in general, it put warm fuzzies in my heart. I think he was in a dark place towards the end of his time at Michigan State. I believe Kenny is engaged to another Bobcat athlete whom he has credited in interviews with completely turning his life around.

The older I get the more I prescribe to the "behind every good man is a good woman" theory. It's amazing the amount of irresponsible dumb asses I have seen turn into great men thanks to them shaping up for a woman.

But anyway, I agree the post-game interview was great. I'd like to know what "PG-13" thing he said to get the technical though.

Probably didn't take much after they got the double technical.

Not sure why Laster was one half of the double technical. For hitting Willie Conner's elbow with his chin?

Or did he say something that wasn't picked up by replay?

I don't think he gets one if we hadn't just gotten the 6 free throws. I think the ref was just worried about walking out of the gym alive.

On a side note, I hadn't noticed how chippy Willie Conner was prior to this game. He had at least three instances where he blatantly initiated contact after his shot. He was lucky he got a call five minutes into the game on his 4-point play. Dartis clearly was going to the side and Conner, who had initially kicked his legs straight ahead then kicked them out to the side and kicked Jordan right in the beans. He tried a similar move two other times including the play that led up to the elbow of Laster. On that one he jumped about three feet forward but Laster was stationary with his arms straight up so they didn't call it. He also had 3 or 4 times where he went out of his way to bump Ohio players on dead balls. Just something to watch for when they come to Athens.

Van, this seems to be the way of things with UB (and Kent, and EMU...) in terms of the chippy behavior. Thus far, I'm glad to see that OUr team has kept composure for the most part. Saul also mentioned in the post game about how he noted that Ohio is getting under the opponents skin a little more because of how well they're defending, and the toughness factor, in his opinion.

UB players definitely lost their composure on several occasions last night. Not so for Ohio players.

I thought if any player had a gripe it was Tone on his fourth foul. However, even though he looked incredulous, he kept his cool and just walked to the Ohio bench. Perkins, on the other hand, had a more obvious fourth foul but had to let the official know how he felt in no uncertain terms. And then said something else to the official on his way to the UB bench.

This difference had as much to do with our comeback last night as any defense, clutch shooting, etc..

It looked like Laster threw an elbow into Conner's gut before Conner threw the elbow at his head.

I thought that looked more like hand-fighting like what happens between a cornerback and wide receiver. You could see they were jawing at each other all the way up the court.

Conner and Blake Hamilton were both screaming at him to keep quiet. You could read Conner's lips when he yelled at him "Shut the **** up, man! Shut up!" I'm still trying to figure out what his beef was with the call. He nearly took Jaaron's head off.

Also agree with your last comment. We got our butts kicked and still pulled out the win because we kept our composure and they didn't.
