According to the Hamilton Ohio newspaper John Cooper did not make a trip north for the first round of the Mac tournament due to an illness. Might not be the best way for him To end his 5 years as coach at Miami U

I wonder if they told him he was going to be fired and he just decided to punt.

That's what I was gonna say. No matter how bad they are, or how likely his dismissal is, I can't see him bailing unless he's really ill. Despite their record, Cooper has never impressed me as a bad guy.

Not buying that Cooper bailed either. I truly believe he was completely immobile to coach that game.
