Austin Peay coach Dave Loos retiring after 27 seasons

On the other hand, ETSU assistant Brian Collins was highly touted as a juco coach plus played for Rick Byrd at Belmont. If he doesn't get the Peay gig, he will be getting attention elsewhere.

Does getting a Peay job make you a urologist?

No, but too much austin in your pee could give you a UTI.

Loos is a legend there. The court is named after him. He's up in years, plus he's been battling cancer the past year. I was honored to see a game there earlier this season. Lots of potential there. Tradition. Nice facilities. Good town.

They have been losing the top mid-major recruits locally to other schools and that can be changed with a new younger coach. Mid-state boys MVP a couple of years ago (Jay'lan Washington) is playing for Louisiana Tech... Peay should have made him a priority and I don't remember them recruiting him at all. At least Peay's womens basketball coach was able to sign the Ferby twins out of Washington's high school... a major coup considering so much talk of them being future major major college players the entire time they were growing up.

But yeah, APSU is a sleeping giant in basketball just as ETSU was and now ETSU is back with 25 wins and counting.
