Campbell just beat UNCA, the #1 seed in the Big South in the opening round game. Chris Clemons, a Campbell guard, had 51 points, including 8 three's.

UNC-Ashville is the first team to punch their NIT ticket.

I remember UNCA having a very good RPI but The ESPN bracket shows Campbell was the #2 seed to Winthrop. It looks, like they tied for the top spot in the conference.

I think you meant UNCA was the #2 to Winthrop - and you are correct - I was wrong. I thought they got the tie-breaker over Winthrop.

Funny thing is, Liberty, the #3 seed in the same conference also lost this afternoon. March is madness already!

Got my MBA from Campbell...Go Camels!! By the way, Campbell used to play in the worst gym in NCAA DI. I am not exaggerating when I say that my junior high gym was nicer. They have since upgraded.

A lot of the lower tiers of D1 have gyms that are inferior to what some of the larger Ohio high schools play in.

This list may have been shared on here before but makes the Convo look like the Taj Mahal.

One of my favorite tournaments every year is the Missouri Valley Arch Madness. Ryan Taylor and Evansville advanced last night with a win over Indiana State. They face a tough task today in the quarterfinals against Illinois State at 1pm. I love his game.

Agreed - it's a great tournament. Sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't be better for the MAC if they didn't roll MAC Madness up a week to play this weekend instead of with almost everyone else next week. Of course TV contracts dictate when we play, but it might be worthwhile to be seen on the same day as the MVC.

UE could not get over the hump. I was tweeting with DJ Ballentine overseas to keep him up as he had no access. Tough on those alums overseas without a slingbox hook up to back home. They really feel that tug on the alum heartstrings about this time of year. Waiting for practice or games as their teams are getting ready for the post season

never argue with idiots, they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Winter comes and asks how you spent your summer.....

The game loves and rewards those who love and reward the game

And #1 seed Belmont goes down to #4 seed Jacksonville State in the OVC semi finals.

One foot and a scooter...

He also beat Radford to make the championship game against #1 Winthrop or #4 Gardner Webb. That's a 1 point game with about 4 minutes left second half.

Horizon League has a unique setup where Top 2 seeds play quarterfinal games a day before everyone else. Thus giving them an extra day of rest for the semis. However, 1-seed Oakland and 2-seed Valpo lose today.

And now with both upsets, both of the bottom two seeds (9 and 10) will have the most rest going into the semifinals. Should be an interesting tournament. Has there ever been a conference tournament where both of the bottom two seeds both make the finals? I can't imagine it has happened before.

Agreed Van. Went to that tournament a couple times with friends from SIU and when a Sports Ad grad was a VP there. Great venue and downtown St. Louis has lots to do (as we all found out when we played UNC).

3-seed Green Bay just lost. NKU (4-seed) and Wright St. (5-seed) play next. Watch ESPN3 to see Ohio's own David McKinley on the Raiders bench.

Watched FGCU beat North Florida yesterday for the Atlantic Sun title. Man, that's a really exciting team to watch. For anyone who lives in the Fort Myers area, a season ticket for that team would definitely be worth it. If I had to guess, I think they had at least 30 points on dunks and putbacks alone. It looked like I was watching an NBA Jam game.

NKU beat Wright State in that one. NKU with a shot at a bid in their first year of NCAA Tourney eligibility (I think). Semifinal match-up tonight for them vs Youngstown St.

Tournament Finals on tonight at 7pm include:

CAA - Charleston vs UNCW
SoCon - UNCG vs ETSU

Siena vs Iona at 9pm

Jacksonville State beat UT-Martin and former Ohio assistant Anthony Stewart to win the Ohio Valley and earn their first berth in the Tourney. Jacksonville State is coached by Ray Harper (and his purple nose) who is in his first year there after five seasons at WKU.

Similar season to last year for the Hawks although their resume isn't quite as impressive this year. Our buddies from New Rochelle may steal their 2nd straight bid out of the MAAC.
