One of our greatest Hoops exports Everett Case of Frankfort IN (the Hot Dogs) started the practice of cutting the nets while here in IN. Good article here on the NCAA and the tradition he started so many years back...and the injuries

As an aside he also added numbers to jersies, pep bands and a number of innovations we find commonplace these days....including bag money, illegal recruiting practices and a little thing called the ACC tourney which was the first of the conference tourneys

Good article ...I find it fascinating that they designed/engineered a ladder with long legged athletes in mind and a scissors holder so that people do not have to hand them to each other.
