A few brief highlights, will add more later in thread

...Saul spent a good 7-10 minutes TALKING to my teens before the shindig. A+.

...in speech, Coach really relayed Tony's positive attitude and impact on players in practice after injury. No excuses, no feeling sorry...helped mold attitude and performances.

...really high on Carter. Got impression we got a Trent level steal on his commit.

...said his wife told him if he dies shes gonna stay in athens. Might have to lower his life insurance. Ha.

...looking forward to guys hitting weightroom this summer. Will be bigger and stronger.

...loves selling Ohio and the college town, one of the best.

...recruiting all next week. Lots of good talent still out there.

...lots of love for Tony. His return might be a challenge, but ohio made their best pitch. And Tone wants to return. Wow.

Pretty much wrapped it up nicely. Nothing new to report. I was kind of impressed by the fact he said there were NBA scouts at almost every practice to watch Tony play. I knew Tony was good, but I didn't know he was being that highly thought of. Good for him.

No. I thought about it but I never got a chance to speak with him one on one. I didn't know whether it would be an insulting question to him or not. Someone did ask if we were close to landing Gary Trent, Jr. Saul had a nice laugh about that.

He then told a great story about recruiting Harrison Barnes while he was at North Dakota State. Apparently Harrison's God parents worked at North Dakota State and they told Saul to give him a call. Harrison was a Top 10 recruit in the country at the time. Saul calls him up and kind of sheepishly says "do you want to come here?" Harrison laughs and says "my God parents told you to call didn't they?"

Great story. Thanks for the reply. I wish I could make the Cleveland one because I'd ask. I don't think it's an insult to wonder about the status of someone being courted by B1G schools, no matter how good his situation is here. On the other hand, I don't know what more Saul could do to keep him, so I suppose it would hurt on a personal level if he left.

Thanks for the reports to those who gave them. Definitely some new tidbits that weren't discussed in Columbus.

Related to Tony, I'm wondering what the timeline is on a decision from the NCAA? Obviously they seemingly do nothing quickly, besides signing a TV contract. It seems like it could put Ohio in a tough spot with recruiting this spring until they definitively know what the status is. There is basically no on they can add as a recruit that's better than him, yet it seems they need to add one more big.

Saul mentioned they are recruiting with the idea that Tony WILL NOT be on the roster. So I mean if he signs new guys, then the NCAA decides Tony can return I guess he'll cross that bridge when he comes to it. But for now he's recruiting like Tony won't be there.

After I posted this, I listed to the video from the event. It sorta clears it up, but I guess the better question is, how do you handle that if you're Ohio and you offer/sign and then the appeal is granted? (or any school for that matter)

Well I think the last thing they can do is yank a scholly from someone they already promised one to. I think you kind of have to sit Tony down and say hey, we don't have any scholarships available, but would you be willing to be a walk-on for the betterment of the team? That would be a crazy scenario if our best player was a 5th year walk-on.

Now that the video is available in thread ill defer to that.

One last thing i remembered, i think Coach told our table the league reached out and said 3 fouls called on Carter vs Kent in MAC tourney were not fouls.
