Bold MAC prediction: The difference between a first round bye and starting the tournament on the road will be no more than four games.
Bold national prediction: There will be more player transfers and coach firings than ever before.

Bold player prediction: Carter will be first-team All-MAC, and honorable mention All-American.

Bold team prediction: OHIO will win the MAC regular season title.

Bold MAC prediction: OHIO will lose in the final round of the MAC tourney to Akron and be the first MAC at-large in almost two decades. Akron will become known as the Miracle Zips because they win the tourney after barely making the cut with a bunch of no-name players.

Bold national prediction: Groce's Akron team will get much national publicity, but OHIO will go further in the NCAA Tournament, as Akron returns to pre-Groce form and loses in the first round.
