Use this thread to talk about anything game-related. For away games, we'll have a separate travel thread.

They used to always have the webcast for the exhibition game right? What happened?

I was sort of thinking that this came up every year because we didn't have media for the exhibition game.

It's an exhibition. Lets not get our undies ruffled over the webcast or radio. You wanna see it? Get to the Convo. Otherwise wait for others' opinions of the contest. Simple as that.

Because the tune up for the season should not include the normal gameday segments? Good plan.

Ummm, the point is it isn't as simple as that. The equipment is in place. We have one of the best Radio/TV programs in the country with any number of students who would like the chance to get some experience on a live broadcast. Last night BG had a live stream of their exhibition with this same Capital squad. No excuses why this isn't being streamed.

Half of Capital's FG attempts last night were 3s and only one player got to the free throw line. Five players tossed up four or more 3s. They had a large number of offensive rebounds but I'm guessing that's more a factor of the 24 missed 3-pters.

I can't recall the last time this game was on the regular over the air radio. In fact, I think I talked with someone about this and the reasoning is simple - radio network affiliates sign up for X-number of games, and this isn't in the deal. I think.

For anyone that'll be there, see ya there.

Now, if I were to comment about something, I'll complain that the university schedules Dad's weekend on an exhibition game weekend instead of when there's an actual game to go to. (any game - not just basketball)

I know, I know, there's some reason someone will cite saying we're an academic institution and this fits the academic calendar. While that's true, and all good and fine, there's not one good reason that something couldn't be arranged so that there's a real game on Dad's weekend. Instead, the beneficiary of this will be club hockey, who will probably have a sold out house two nights in a row.

Simply put, in my opinion, it is a missed opportunity to pack the house with Dad's for a game that could truly matter, and make an impression on them because it's a big game with a better atmosphere. And you never know, they might end up buying season tickets as a result.

I think this is a fair point. It doesn't have to be Russ & Rob - could be students running the show on a free stream on YouTube. I hadn't considered that in my +1 above.

Reminds me of the year I covered the team for the Messenger. My memory is hazy on the details, but I know there was an exhibition where I was the only one working on press row. During the first media timeout, I wanted to stand up and say, "Hey guys, no need to hold things up on my account," but alas...

Since Ohio no longer has a deal with Stretch internet, I think that's why a game like this won't be available to watch via webcast.

Someone in the stands should Periscope it.

What a day at the Convo.....Wow!

Really? That's how old coaches shows were made available. I'm wondering if there is an alternative plan? (I admit, I rarely listen to the Frank show, but usually listen to Saul)

Would there be any parameters preventing us from setting up A/V equipment and doing a livestream on youtube? Don't even need on air talent. Get someone to run the sound and video and one guy to keep a scoreboard.
