Their won loss record is awful but they've played decently in a few of the losses. Their two wins were good but on a neutral court. Definitely a game that we should win comfortably, but we have to come to play.

It's going to prepare them for their NCAA tourney run.

Typical schedules for those leagues.

Take a peek at Texas Southern schedule ... 13 road games to start season before they begin SWAC play. They'll cruise in that league right into Dayton & First Four

Just looked at the CBS sports app and saw we have an RPI of 231 last in the MAC expect for Kent at 297. Is this accurate?

Yes. Although I find Sagarin (148) or KenPom (159) to be much better ranking tools.

For those that do not use or don't pay for advanced analysis....in the MAC it is Balls Buffs EMUs and Ohios in ranking order. Miami is on the bottom in the high 200s

Radio does a pretty good job. Happy with that while watching Duke beat up on Evansville, marquette, houston, Fla, seton Hall and Gtown. Good night for hoops

Gollon, block and others shooting over 50% for 3. Mickel throwing down some thunder dunks. Second half seemed to be a bueat.

Marty got real excited on a tomahawk dunk by Mickle late. Kinda sucks not to be able to see plays like that.

Well that was interesting. 7 against 9 unless you count the three guys in stripes but that's another story.

Dartis was on a mission and once Gollon decided to shoot rather than fake and dribble (he did it five times in a row from the left corner the first half), the Cats took control.

Prairie View also helped when they went away from what had worked for them, driving down the lane, and went to quick outside shots for about a five minute period midway through the second half.

It's a win. Everyone went home happy in Athens and the person mixing the music today should get an A+ and a raise. Just the right amount of classics like James Brown's "I Feel Good" interspersed with Christmas tunes.

C'mon Allen, PVAMU coach had more gripes with the refs than you and other Ohio fans.

Speaking of Gollon, he and Kirk are both proving to be excellent rebounders for their size, which is important with all the injured bigs. Not to mention the ever-growing confidence he must be gaining with his outside shot. A very nice weapon to have off the bench.

Speaking of bench, can anyone tell me why DT would rather be sitting on the bench during team warmups prior to the second half? I noticed this tonight and it wasn't the first time. Wondering if he's nursing an injury.

Speaking of injury, it looks like Dartis is not 100%. Not sure, but I believe he recently had fluids drained from, I believe, his hips. 50 points the last two games for Dartis. I mentioned this before, but he'll lead the country in FT% either this season or next. Hit 8 straight tonight, by my count, before missing his last attempt.

On the bench, but not dressed: Carter, BVP, Laster, and Dozier. Gareiri was dressed for the second straight game but hasn't seen the floor yet. Coach mentioned in the post-game that one of the things he's going to have to consider during the players' four-day break will be redshirts for this season. Didn't mention any names.

Ohio crowd goes crazy for Lava Cakes, but I wonder how many actually take advantage of the offer. I'm not even sure what a Lava Cake is. Speaking of crowd, anyone else notice the white-haired man sitting front row center in the Ozone? Loudest, most enthusiastic fan in that section all season. Didn't sit down the entire game.

Think I broke my all-time record tonight, getting from the Convo to my garage in Newark in 70 minutes. Biggest victory of the night.

Come on Steveland, at least get the name spelling right. It's Alan not be confused with that other guy, Allen.

70 minutes. I hope you didn't have any kids in the car. :)

And 2 to 4 points on your license. :)

Had I been the PV coach I would have asked how much the three zebras were getting paid extra last night. As I mentioned earlier, Dartis and Gollon stepped up big time and the other five have to be commended for playing hard in a daunting situation but that was one of the best displays of home cooking I've seen in quite some time.

Anyone else think it was odd that only two bench players played during a second half blowout at home?

The rest of the bench consisted of AJ Gareiri and walkons. Saul put the walkons in with a minute left.

Well, he sent them to the scorers table but the clock never stopped and they didn't get in. AJ wasn't among that group but I'm looking forward to seeing him on the floor. In postgame interview Saul said they have to determine their redshirts.

And at no point was the game really a "blowout" although we were in control the last ten minutes. Final score NOT an indicator of the game. For Christmas I want Jordy to continue to attack and be an aggressive offensive player; for James to continue to build confidence, play hard and shoot the three; and for Gavin to shot fake less and take shots up more quickly.

Happy Holidays everyone.

Marty did get really excited. Any chance for some youtube/BobcatTV action on that dunk?

Don't know about a replay but it was a spectacular one-handed power slam and he had the ball a good (almost?) two feet above the rim. For those needing Devaughnlike dunks to get excited, this was one of them.

I think Saul did not sub in at the end of the game because PVAM coach was still coaching with his starters still in the game. It really was pointless to send the walk-ons to the score table at 1:38 secs.
Nice to see our bobcats play with a sense of urgency and knocking down that outside shooting. The inside post game still not present as DT appeared lethargic. DT needs more touches to keep him motivated on both ends of the floor. Overall, excellent performance with this quick athletic team. Nice way to go on Christmas Break.
