With the obvious caveat that there may be plenty we don't know yet, curious how folks think the rotation will play out with the news that Pavs is back.

My sense is that it will look something like this (minutes in parenthesis). Basically, a lot of three guard lineups:

1: Pavs (32) / Mitchell (8)
2: KDA (28) / Mitchell (8) / Brogan (4)
3: Siebe (25) / Mitchell (8) / Brogan (4)
4: Dusan (20) / Kuany (12) / Mosely (8)
5: Simmons (30) / Dusan (7) / Mosely (3)

We'll probably see early season minutes from Icke, Bowens, Petkov, and Burris too. But Boals always ends up with a short rotation and that's my best guess.

Cam Robertson who is our student reporter for the messenger, seems to think Kuany will start at the 4 since Dusan and Simmons are "too similar". However, I think it's Dusan as well.

I think Icke gets the most minutes out of the bottom 4, given his size. We'll need a 4th big rotating in. His film shows an ability to run the floor and step outside, something Wiz or Breath didn't have.

I still think we see some Burris early and some Petkov late. Bowens is the only guy on the roster I think will redshirt and not see any time. We will see Mitchell, KDA and Pavs out there together, mark it down. And that will be fun. Toss Kuany and Simmons with them and whoa, let'em cook.

While I understand the implication, the reality is that redshirts as I know it are a thing of the past. With the new rules allowing for five years of clock time, there is no value in a redshirt. You can play someone garbage minutes to see what you have in them going forward rather than just having them ride the bench the entire season.

Correct...redshirts are history.

I think you shorted yourself 3 minutes at the 3.

Most exciting is that we will have both injuries and slumps if not outright duds, and we are equipped to handle them. Look at last year, Breath & Connors were exciting additions that just didn't pan out. We probably have 1 or 2 newcomers that have similar results. But to start, I think I like your guess.

Oh yeah, good catch.

I think wherever possible there basically won't really be a major distinction between the 2 & 3. And we're going to try and get away with a lot of lineups with three small guards.

Fingers crossed that Siebe is a difference maker, because he's really our only shot at having any size at all on the wing.

Boals in his recruiting has done some out-of-the-box thinking. How about going all the way and adopting the Grinnell System? I think we have the players to do it, and it would keep a lot more guys happy with their playing time. It also would be harder for the opposition to defend because the team might have two entirely different looks and they would have to be constantly adjusting.
