Playing Hocking College would bring more interest.

With what I’ve seen so far, I would find an intra squad scrimmage that was open to the public more entertaining and perhaps more telling. At least there would be a bigger sample size for me (yeah I’m being selfish) and my untrained eyes to see if my opinions on playing time in a couple of cases has something to it or is just off base. For instance, Kuany against BG appeared to be the only player on the floor who could match up (and maybe exceed) athletically with 2-3 of the BG players (Maybe Kelly too but he just had an off night). I know basketball is more than athleticism alone but he has been doing other things pretty well too IMHO.

Also, I did notice Towns’ antics after the game. I was watching him in particular at times and thought to myself that he seems to be controlling his emotions and maybe he now is a mature young man. I was giving him the benefit of the doubt. Near the end of the game however my thoughts began to change. He started hanging out near the Ohio bench with a little chirping during free throws, etc., and I’m thinking, no, he’s not matured and he’s going to ramp up showing himself. And, he did. Seriously, I do hope he soon learns to control his emotions.

Fiami-Hamilton beat the Commuity College of Beaver and Hocking lost to them.

Tasteless punchlines about Community College of Beaver not needed.

This is pathetic.

Is this not a game we should be up 20 at the half and win by 30 or 40?

Ajay Sheldon amd Dior Conners are terrific 3pt shooters. As long as the guys guarding them are under 6'2 and slow.

Evans not in the game at all in the first half.

My gut says he's a good candidate to play for Fiami-Hamilton next season.

No way Evans can take up a schollie next year. Zero development from freshman to sophomore season.

Jordan Fisher leading scorer!

Padded the 3 pointer stats today...remember that if you look up our season stats and think "maybe we aren't THAT bad" from 3.

Only thing real troubling from the box score is Jalen Breath with 5 turnovers, 0 points & 0 boards in 13 minutes.

I know it was against a horrible team but Jordan Fisher should be playing NOW. He should be getting a look over Elliott, Conners and Sheldon. Give him 3 each of their mins. Dude is long, athletic and super savvy.

Whiff in recruiting or just not developing once in Athens?

We were up 6 with nine minutes left in the first half.

Fiami Hamilton is not an NCAA member; they are in something called the United States Collegiate Athletic Association USCAA Division II

Other members include:
Bay Path University, The Crown College,Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences,Five Towns College, Villa Maria College, etc.

Is this who we want Ohio basketball to be just sort of good enough against?

(outscoring them 50-25 in the second was more in line with the purpose of this game)

The less outstanding:
Hadaway with five points
Breath zero points
Elliott with three points
Evans with two points in 13 minutes

I think it's the latter. We don't develop bigs.

Really nice to see that our younger recruits can beat a branch campus basketball team. I know everybody does it now but I don’t remember back in the good old day scheduling games with branch campus basketball teams? Seriously, challenge yourself!

Fiami dropped 135 on a cupcake today and BGSU like 126.

If you are going to play the blind school, beat them like a rented mule.

Why not keep it in the family and play OU-Z or OU-L or OU-C, or even OU-E or OU-SC? Maybe we could have a little play-in tourney in Athens, pit branch campus teams against each other, with the winner playing OU-Athens, as the main campus team gets a bye for the first round or two. Now that would be imaginative, out-0f-the-box thinking.

What assistant coach, on our staff, played as a big - and is qualified to develop them?

I'm not saying 6'0 guys who were guards CAN'T be good Big Manz coaches. But, traditionally...

Or, is the answer Jeff Boals. I know he knows how to play and coach the post at this level. But the HC is usually more involved in the overall team prep and not individual positions.

Maybe he needs to either commit himself more to this, or find someone to bring on his staff to better complement the current group.

Where is John Rhodes when you need him?
