Acuff's 29 points lead Eastern Michigan past Ohio

Bobcats remain winless in MAC road games

YPSILANTI, Mich. – Tyson Acuff scored 29 points to lead Eastern Michigan to a 90-79 victory over Ohio on Tuesday night at the George Gervin Game Above Center.

Ohio (11-11, 3-6 Mid-American Conference) was as close as 56-52 on an Elmore James jumper with 11:22 to play, but Acuff hit a pair of free throws at the 8:10 mark that made it 68-58 game. He hit a 3-pointer at the 2:55 mark to put the score at 82-70, and Eastern Michigan (6-16, 3-6 MAC) remained ahead by double digits the rest of the way.

Most of the first half was even, with a Hunter 3-pointer tying the score at 26 with 8:25 to go. Eastern Michigan followed with a 7-0 run and held the lead the rest of the game.

Miles Brown was 1-for-10 and scored just five points. AJ Brown did not play because of an injury.

The Bobcats shot just 44.8% but stayed competitive with 21 offensive rebounds, including nine by Wilson.
