I'm sure our boy from Nelsonville, not unlike many other Republicans, will be like rats fleeing a sinking ship - putting as much distance as possible between themselves and Householder. Already seeing it from rookie Mark Frazier from Newark, who benefited from Householder's dark money.

And probably what we'll see on a national level once Trump is no longer leading the GOP (looking at you Lindsay Graham, Mitch McConnell, etc. . .)

I local guy was a member of the 21 member Team Householder. My bet is that he's hiding in the canal over in Nelsonville right now.

I don’t believe you know the background on that relationship. Jay can’t stand Householder and never could. He’s only played ball with him when he absolutely had to to help his district. So, I suspect he’s not hiding in a canal lock but sending up fireworks in celebration!

You are crazy if you really believe that!

Well, you know more about football rules than I do not to mention inside info from the Round House on Richland, but in this case you don't really know what you are talking about. I've talked personally with Jay about Larry going back a few years ago. He and I had the same impression of the scumbag. I never trusted him and neither did Jay.

Believe what you want. Let the actions speak for themselves over the words.

I know the facts, you are spinning.

Having had conversations with our photo op rep, I have to follow BTC's lead on this one.

I have no idea who your “photo op rep” is and why you give him much credibility. All I can say is that he is misinformed if you are reporting correctly what it is he said about this matter.

The photo op rep is the guy you are defending and who has banned many from his official FB page. Even the ANews - your favorite paper - says Larry's his friend in today's article.

There you go again with facts Al.

Just saw that the Ohio House voted unanimously to remove Householder as Speaker.

Also saw that he and the others charged with him have been indicted.

Took a secret vote by order of the GOP dominated HOUSE. Guess they didn't want Larry to know they were against him. OH well, that did not work out very well. Note, Larry is still a member of the House and has no interest in resigning. Good times!!!! Last 2 speakers have resigned or been removed under legal pressure. oops

By the way, a fellow GOP member blew the whistle to the Feds

During the House GOP caucus Tuesday there were a few Republicans who were still in favor of keeping him as Speaker. Even that trickle of support went away when the indictment came down an hour before the full House vote.

As usual, you get the last word, BTC. Doesn't mean you're correct, but since you cite someone who cites the ANews as a source, who's gonna argue any longer?

Typical, OCF.

Minus this post, it appears that you have the last word (for now), not BTC.

OCF, again, believe what you want, not changing facts, especially interesting is the low profile of Mr. Kodachrome Represenitive. Why lay low? Why no statement? Two weeks ago he blasted democrats on his FB (which as stated he illegally blocks folks) that he'd call out any GOP member who he disagreed with. Ironically 3 days later the arrest, and then he deletes his own post to that statement. That's called transparency in action.

From today's Athens News. The third paragraph tells it all.

Rep. Jay Edwards (R-Nelsonville) joined the rest of the Ohio House of Representatives Thursday in unanimously voting to remove his personal friend and now-former boss Larry Householder (R-Glenford) as House speaker, but he also voted along mostly partisan lines to table opening the floor for debate on expelling the former speaker from the body.

In a statement released Thursday night, Edwards largely praised Householder’s tenure as speaker, saying that “progress was made on multiple fronts” under his leadership, before explaining why he voted to revoke his speakership.

“My family and I have grown to consider Larry to be a friend. We were confident that Householder would help give southeastern Ohio a stronger voice,” Edwards said in the statement.

“In fact, Larry was fond of sharing the story of meeting my grandfather, Joe Edwards, for the first time back in 1996, when Householder stopped by the Movies 10 during his campaign for state representative.”

Shocking. A politician flat out lies to a constituent - even one he considers a friend.

At least he took the honorable way out, though it would be more impressive had he opened up his belly with a proper Tanto.

I can't believe that our tax money is still being used to pay for Householder sitting in the General Assembly and doing basically nothing. He had the gall to introduce legislation calling for more accountability of county health departments by letting county commissioners vote to countermand health department orders. Where's the accountability for him?

Democrats in the Ohio House have introduced a bill that would force any House member under indictment to repay their salary and the cost of medical and retirement benefits from the time they're indicted until the time they're convicted. It's probably going nowhere because Republicans don't want it.

And Jay Edwards voted against his ouster. And despite what OCF says, Jay was in the paper today stating that he considers Householder "his friend".

Headline in the Mess:

Edwards Mum On Householder Vote, Promises Statement When "He Feels Like It"

Just another example of his distain toward his constituents and the democratic process.
