Annual turd drop.

The old snap issues came back to haunt us.

Randy Cross hit it on the head: why the hell doesn't Ohio's QB go under center from its own one? We've had this issue with at least the last three QBs.

Haven't won on the road this season. All three losses were to teams with red as their primary color.

They have two weeks to let this eat at their craw.

Fire Tim Albin!!

Anybody keeping track of Navarro fumbled snaps?

I was wondering early with a few bobbles and uncharacteristic off short passes if he hand a hand issue like in the Morgan State game last year. Nothing in the 2nd half made me stop wondering.

OK, I'll play. Navarro with 3 2nd-half turnovers v. WVU and 3 more 2nd-half turnovers v. BG, both Ohio wins. Maybe we'd be better off today with 3 2nd-half turnovers from Navarro? While we're at it, maybe we beat the nation's #1 team with 3 2nd-half turnovers?

Is it basketball season yet?

Not our best game today. Wished DC would have stacked the box and made Ball QB throw. We see Parker everyday and practice. No offense to BSU QB, but he's not strapped like Parker. Gotta regroup and bounce back. Happened our senior year in 06. Lost to BG and went on a run.

Why does BSU QB run 21 times and OUr QB only runs 13 times?

QB should be running on one of every three plays all game long. Take the snap and drop back and then take off.

Oh, pardon me I should have left the DROP out and not be accused of rubbing it in.

No, thanks. My son is in basic training at the Navy's Great Lakes Training Command in Chicago. He called about an hour after the game and we got to speak with him for about half an hour for the first time in two weeks. A nice day-after-my-birthday present. I'm feeling better now.

Thank God, I went to watch a grandaughters soccer game and not this football game today. I Thank God we won the championship last year cause I thought I’d never see another one after graduating in 1971. To be honest, I don’t think this is a championship team. Not a good enough defense and the offense is simply inconsistent. I sure hope I’m wrong!

I think this is an inconsistent team. Parker must be hurt or at least bruised. He is not as dynamic. It is almost like Smith is trying to force a pocket passer out of him.

Too many personal foul penalties. Undisciplined team today. Special teams mistakes, bad snaps/quarterback not protecting the football and bad throws, Missed wide open receivers. Ball State play a better game and they deserved the win. Bobcats were outplayed and outcoached. Not good enough effort. Oline was dominated today. Special teams coach won't be back next year if can't fix this quick. Every week its special teams mistakes. That fall on the coaching staff at this point.

I agree. Let me emphasize the "BAD SNAPS" part of what you said. This is getting old fast. I really didn't see problems with the QB that others are pointing out. I saw many bad snaps, and an OL that looked like swiss cheese. I also saw a very uninspired football team. I think they thought they just had to show up to win. They had very little intensity. I blame that one on the coach.

It sure does. Given all that just one second half td and ya win the game. D played good enough to win. They were on the field the entire second half. Offense failed. Failed to execute and play calling was playing not to lose vs playing to win and it cost the game. If lessons are learned this team can be in the hunt. If not they will be 6 and 6.

He's not hurt. He just sucks at ball security. He fumbled two perfectly good snaps.

Me saying it sure does, was me agreeing with your comment of “this pretty much covers it”. Regarding the post you were responding to. I don’t think he’s hurt. I also believe Coach Smith will get things corrected, can’t sit on a lead vs an inferior opponent, this team is not that good. In my opinion we did the same thing, sitting on a lead, vs WVU, we won and when you win sometimes lessons aren’t learned. Being a first year head coach there is a learning curve. Keeping most of the staff intact is great for the program long term but I believe it kept this season relevant. Having many new position coaches will take time to jell and for Coach Smith to have confidence in their abilities. The second half offensive struggles are ultimately on him. I believe he knows it and will learn from it. Perhaps he goes conservative because he is aware of ball security issues. The offense goes as Parker goes. They will be ok.

I was unable to watch most of this game and pretty happy about that after the result.

We always seem to lose 1 head scratcher in the MAC in the good years. Good timing to have 2 weeks off to fix things and get healthier. Still think a MAC repeat and 9 or more wins is in reach.

When you say they were not inspired, you likely never played sports to make a comment like that. I remember a famous jazz musician, Juseff Lateef. You likely played jazz, not sports and played with Juseff.

giacomo coming out of self-imposed exile. A few days longer than OCF's.

And a new saying to go with his return. No more "send in the clowns"? No more "que sera, sera"?

One snap was bad. On the others, as in the past, he failed to receive and secure the ball before pulling back to start the play. It's a concentration and discipline issue.

Just an absolutely atrocious 2nd half of football against a bad team. Ball State won't compete in the MAC. This is a terrible loss, one of the worst I can remember. The problems and grievances is too long to even big addressing. Everyone failed miserably.
