MC- if this institution was more football focused then it would have already cost her. I imagine if this happened in the SEC/Big 10, she would already be gone.

LOL. We should be first and foremost be focused on successful student-athletes.

I get it, you feel Cromer is incompetent and Albin walks on water. Unfortunately, everything you've posted to date is nothing more than your opinion, full of animosity. You have no firsthand knowledge of anything.

But one FACT is Albin left Ohio, for all intents and purposes, a week prior to his biggest game of his coaching career. That to me is a sign of disrespect to the players. Your insinuation that Cromer and others disrespected him is not based on anything factual.

And WHY he would leave a highly successful team for a mediocre one that is a basic rebuild is befuddling. NIL $$$ is about all I can see if, in fact, he loved Athens.

So BL knew what he was talking about with his cryptic post? This is the first story I've seen that seems to be based on real facts rather than just conjecture. I still think Brian Smith should get the job. We did well hiring from within the last time.

Yes, I remember that, but you were just speculating based on an X (formerly known as Twitter) follow. BL stated it as a fact that he was "in play." But, you get credited for the first mention, and obviously, your inferences from the X follow were right on the money!

The more I think about it, the more I think hiring Brian Smith would be the right way to go. Another reason I think this would be good is that it should give us a better chance of keeping to Hauser as well as opposed to hiring outside of the program. Under Smith's guidance, our offense really came into it's own as the season progressed culminating in completely confounding Miami in the MAC Championship. And Hauser got our defense right back into dominating form after losing so many starters. Overlooking points such as these would be the equivalent of looking a gift horse in the mouth. Where on one hand, you have to do the due diligence in looking outside of the program to have confidence that you made the right decision, on the other, I feel what we have right now in the coaching staff at Ohio is pretty special even after Albin's departure.

Interesting to see Tettleton get an interview. Seems like it would be too early to give him a shot at head coach but I could see him being an offensive coordinator at this level.

Agreed. The players all want "Coach Smitty", based on the fact that none at all have entered the portal, and based on their comments in the pre-bowl game conference. Based on the results of a recent poll, that is the BA approved choice. Based on an exhaustive study of historical precedent by Mike Coleman, it is clearly the best option. All signs lead to Coach Smitty. Get it done!

It did stick out to me that Parker gave a generic “wish him well” answer when asked about what coach Albin had meant for them then started talking about how excited they were to play this game for coach Smith.

Remember, it’s Coach Smitty who is credited to have brought Parker to Ohio from UCF. He recruited him while at Hawaii.
