Great game and absolutely terrible officiating. One of the most poorly officiated games I've seen in some time.

Happy to see the showboating Bull denied at the cup.

Game changer. When he missed that dunk, the wind was taken from the sails of Buffalo.

Let's not forget that freshman, Roderick, performance.

Huge win....couldn't go this year without winning at least one against the big four in the east. Another thing became quite apparent last night as well. I said it when it happened....Jim Whitesell is a horrible fit for UB hoops. Just not a fan of that hire at all.

+1

Would love to see another one Friday night. Back to back wins over UB and Kent would make for the best week of the season.

That's what was funny to me, I thought it was a poorly officiated game, too...but read the Buffalo board and they thought they were getting homered.

Great game from Roderick, that start was amazing but I couldn't have been the only one looking at the clock and thinking about Saturday. They weathered the Buffalo run to get back in it early, which was great to see. They could have folded there when UB got it down to about 5 and instead pushed the lead back up to 13 (right?) at the break. Our performance against Buffalo's press late was a little alarming, but we managed to hold on and win. This was honestly not a game I expected to get.

Side note, I'd love to get more bodies in here similar to Mballa. I'd personally rather have a physical, powerful 6'7-6'8 post than a wiry 6'9-6'10 kid that gets pushed around. Buffalo always seems to have guys in that mold. I'd like to have a few here.

Passing of the torch last night. Said it to a fellow fan: Roderick and McDay as bookends for this squad are going to be huge for Ohio in the future.

McDay does just about everything right, always makes the smart play (that headfake to get Buffalo defenders in the air last night was a crafty, veteran move) and is tough as nails on defense. He has the better all around game between the two freshmen wings at the moment. The worst you could say about him is that he just not needs to get physically stronger in the weight room and put up thousands of shots in the summer. Which he no doubt will.

Roderick to me has more upside because he seems like the more natural shooter/scorer and last night we saw what he could really do when he is stroking it with confidence. Same thing for him: get physically stronger in the weight room and more game reps and he'll be exactly what Ohio needs for the next three years.

Can't discount the rebounding effort last night by the whole squad. That was the first time someone outrebounded Buffalo since the mac opener on Jan. 4.

Hot Take: I think if Roderick stays all four years and stays healthy, he will beat Dartis' 3 point record at Ohio.

Yep. And the loud crowd cheering, pointing and laughing after the showboating didn't hurt with that. Just can't underestimate the impact of good, active fans at the Convo. We need that Friday to night too. Hope the South Americans can make it again.

(nods head in agreement)

Give me the guy that can play over the guy whose wingspan and height stats are impressive on paper. Of course, both would be ideal. ;-)

I would enjoy that too. I'll also be honest: I'm still salty as hell that game is taking place on Friday night. I'll be watching on "tape delay" when I get home Friday.

I sat with the Brazilians as an honorary Brazilian after hanging out with them at the Ohio U. Inn and they invited me to join them. They are very enthusiastic fans and I thought they provided a big spark. I noticed a few Ohio players glancing over during some of the loud cheers. I think their presence was a great boost to the atmosphere. Sadly, they leave Friday morning for Brazil.

That was overwhelmingly the tenor on the Bulls Board. Group consensus that Ohio media team was absolutely terrible and the refs were paid. One guy had balls enough to say how poorly the Bulls played so hats off to him.
