I am telling you, we are going to end up with Scott Frost once Nebraska gets rid of him; currently, he is handling Buffalo 14 - 3 in the 3rd quarter.

KitKat, perhaps not the most reliable source over at a MAC message board, posted this weekend that Albin has a two year look-in placed in his contract. Not sure what that is exactly.

Not sure what it is exactly either� Maybe there were some goals listed in his contract that he had to reach by the end of year two or else we had the ability to get out after year two with no penalty?

Not much solace but Florida State lost to 1AA Jacksonville State on a last-second TD yesterday. It's the same JSU that was hammered by UAB last week, which itself was hammered by Georgia yesterday. Somebody mentioned that FSU fired Willie Taggart after only 21 games because they were 9-12 under him, and they have to go 6-4 to get to that point under Mike Norvell.

10 more to go. Even better. I�m guessing most of you never played sports. If you did, you would know Scarlet O�Hara was right. The team and coaches know there is work to do and they will do it. It�s too early to predict the season.

I guess I am cynical of a system that pays coaches millions and still thinks players are amateurs. I am not cynical of our team. If only I could have attended the game, see the campus and hear the band. Win or lose, I�m happy.

Ah-hem... Per his contract under section 9.2:

"In the event of termination of this agreement not found for cause by the University during the time period of July 9, 2021 through December 31, 2022, The university shall pay Head Coach a sum equal to the daily rate of pay (base salary divided by 365) multiplied by the number of days remaining between the termination effective date and December 31, 2022.

In the event of termination of this agreement not for cause by the University during the time period of January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2024, University shall not pay Head Coach any liquidated damages."

So basically if we fire him due to performance, it'll be Jan 1 2023 if the University doesn't want to pay him out. At least that is how I understand the language, I am not a legal expert so take it for what its worth.

Paying a man that hasn�t been a head coach since before most of his athletes were born and hasn�t been able to help win a MAC championship in his time here $535k?! Sheeeeeeeeesh. Here I was thinking we signed him at a discount.

Didn�t realize college coaches still have in their contracts that they can�t gamble on pro sports. Makes sense, but I didn�t know if legalization in so many states changed that.

Probably still that fear that if a coach (or even a player) gets in debt to gambling interests, they'll be vulnerable to throwing games. It still happens, though infrequently. Several years ago it hit Toledo b-ball, when at least one player got mixed up with Detroit bookies in a point-shaving scheme.

Just remembered that the other night there was a college game on TV where the game was essentially over but close to the point spread when the trailing team lined up for a FG. The ESPN guys spent several minutes kidding about the amount of money riding on that one FG try. This is the kind of thing the NCAA and schools don't want -- just the appearance that a coach's or player's decisions could be based on relationships with gamblers. The pros don't seem to mind anymore; the NFL is in cahoots with FanDuel and at least one CFL team has a bookie for a sponsor. But colleges are still pretty skittish about it.

So long as the perceptions that programs are judged by (by Poll voters, Playoff selectors, media, etc) include statements such �well they won the game, but they didn�t cover the spread� then coaches should absolutely be aware of the point spread and make every attempt to �beat� it if they are close to it. If that causes gamblers money, tough poop
