i see michigan president said yesterday that no physical students = no sports.

i'm starting to see this as no college football anywhere OR only in crazy R governor states. consistent with "right to work" states.

That’s been the standard line for the most part. Question is, will they be in school? Have yet to see anyone state that sports can be played without studenrs on campus.

It seems most places plan to go back to having students on campus, though, right? I know there a few places that's not true, but it seems most are pretty desparate financially and are at least making plans to open. It will be interesting to see what happens if there's a handful of schools across the country that don't play this year.

Here's one person's predictions about what college football will be like, including that the season will start relatively on time, there will be some fans, some non-conference games and bowls will be canceled, and coaches' press conferences during the week will become virtual.

Lots of trepidation in New Jersey with Rutgers football.

We're still pretty much locked down.

Colleges are not saying much official about the fall.

About the only thing you hear is that they hope to have at least
some on campus classes.

Most colleges are saying they think there will be a mix of
on campus and on line classes.

Problem is,until they open up Rutgers'campus, right now there isn't
even a guess when that will be,no access to athletic facilities.

The announcement today that game times and television coverage won't be announced for early season games brings us a step closer to some incredible rescheduling as schools decline to play or decline to make long trips.

At least one source in Michigan expects their Washington game to be replaced with a nearby directional.

The fun now is looking at schedules and taking guesses on how slots get filled. Michigan State hosts Air Force and Alabama hosts USC the same weekend Ohio plays Marshall. Would ADs in Athens and Huntington consider shelving their series to take suddenly critical paydays in East Lansing and Tuscaloosa? Does OU travel to Texas State? Boston College? Illinois and Purdue play hosts to distant teams both of those weekends.

Long flights are not a concern other than for money, as the flights are charters, the team will be exposed to no more folks if it’s a bus trip or a flight. As for bagging one game to payday another? That would all depend on the money and do you value your reputation for bailing on contracts.

Anyone that predicts the future for more than 30 days from now will probably be wrong.

Isn't that the truth!? It's actually a little maddening to not be able to predict, and therefor plan what you're going to do in 30 days. I think that phenomenon is starting to decrease a little, but it's still there. You never know what is, or is not going to be cancelled or closed.

It's a little like Jerry Palm and others who start predicting the teams that will be in every bowl game even before the season starts. The landscape for those predictions changes every week. The landscape for Covid-19 changes every day.

Speaking of which, I've already seen bowl predictions for this upcoming season. I totally can relate to not knowing what to write about and wanting to think about sports, but it's a virtual impossible thing to do right now to try to predict who will be in each bowl game, which bowl games will be played or even which, if any, schools will be playing.
