Strange the article quotes one player from one team. Not sure how that fit into the overall report.

Agreed. Since the Post went online, their articles have been far from in-depth. They did make a couple of nice pie charts though.

Assuming all things equal (weekend vs. weekday game, distance), I fundamentally agree that travel procedures should be the same for all sports.

As for the rest of this, is it not obvious that football by nature eats a huge chunk of budget?

Travel is not even close to equal.

For some perspective here, Appy State pays their football staff what OHIO Athletics pays all their coaches combined.

Travel is not even close to equal.

For some perspective here, Appy State pays their football staff what OHIO Athletics pays all their coaches combined.


Are we talking about the same thing? What I mean to say is if one of our men's teams flies to North Carolina on a weekend, for example, all of our women's teams also fly to similar distances on weekends.

We are talking about the same thing. Travel comes out of the teams budget some sports have more money to travel better than others
